Best coffee I’ve ever had in the USA. The food was expensive, but delicious. Cute little shop in a nice part of the city. I hope to visit again some day.

We tried Coffee and Plants for the first time today, and maybe it just wasn’t their best day. The place is beautiful and has a lovely vibe, but the food and overall experience didn’t quite live up to the price point.
I ordered the avocado tartine, which didn’t look like the advertised picture and was honestly disappointing: $18 for a piece of chewy bread with some avocado, tomatoes, and capers felt pretty steep. The chagaccino had way too much cinnamon for my taste, though the “Peach Please” drink was actually pretty good. My friend also ordered a hot lavender coffee that arrived cold and it took a few minutes for the waiter to acknowledge the mistake and make it again; and a strawberry croissant that was left out of the order. When we mentioned it, the staff brought it over but reminded us multiple times that we had to pay for it since it wasn’t charged before, which honestly felt unnecessary given the mix-up.
Overall, the café is beautiful but the quality and service didn’t quite match the prices. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’d come back.

We were in Pasadena for the day looking for a coffee shop with decent vegan options and we were blown away with this one. Fantastic drinks, delicious treats, an environment dripping with coziness, and staff who are kind, thoughtful, and helpful. We wound up coming back 3 times in one day! Everything is well made and wonderful.

super cute place but the worker is not very knowledgeable on coffee drinks. i tried ordering just an iced coffee and a hot coffee. didnt seem to understand what i was asking for. I completely understand specializing in speciality drinks but it felt difficult for no reason ordering coffee haha. coffee wasn't good unfortunately
also smells like vomit inside the place ):

My favorite coffee shop in Pasadena! I usually go for a regular latte, but I have also tried their charcoal latte which is delicious. I also love their food options since it’s hard to find cafés with so many vegan options that are also delicious. The atmosphere is to die for inside or outside the café is so cute. Would highly recommend!

This is my first visit. I thought the coffee selection was unique and I tried something new. The location can be a little tricky to find because it is next to some construction on a one-way street. But of course like most areas in Los Angeles once you know where it is it’s not so hard to find the next time

I love supporting vegan businesses and I’m not happy to leave a low rating but my experience at this cafe was not good whatsoever. They were low on almost everything which I understand that maybe I got them on a bad day so I wasn’t upset about that at all but the fact that the cashier seemed bothered that I was trying to figure out what they had so I could order it had my partner & I shocked. My partner & I are not picky at all, as long as the food is vegan we are typically happy. But the fact that we had food & coffee that was not yummy handed to us with some attitude had us bummed out. The female cashier was not good with customers. So I just feel bad for whoever owns this place because her attitude is going to keep people out of this place. I definitely will not be coming back to this place ever which again I feel bad about because I love supporting vegan businesses. This is the only bad review ever left on HappyCow.
Great find! I’m not a fan of any rose-lavender-flavored lattes but the barista did mention that their rose syrup is house made and doesn’t have the artificial flavoring that most shops have. I took her word and gave it a try! Loved it. I had it hot but I’m sure iced would have been just as great. I also had their cherry almond muffin! Not a combination i would have ever tried so thanks for the new flavoring!I think the vibes could have been better but working in the customer service field, I’m too biased. Overall a solid experience.

Got a coffee and tartine before the goth fest. Good coffee and pastries. The tartine was good but expensive. Cute place. Updated from previous review on 2025-05-17
Unique menu with original drinks and pastries you won’t find in other cafes. I got almond butter cherry muffin and Dubai chocolate latte and both were incredible. The atmosphere is both grounding and elevated with plants giving it a cozy feel. The cafe is secluded in the alley and it gives it an European vibe. As I understood, everything was vegan and vegetarian, but I think you can get a whole milk option. Parking is in nearby structures and relatively cheap compared to other areas in the city. First 2 hours are free.
The place itself and the person making the drinks was all cool, just the drinks itself were not good. My boyfriend and I got two different drinks and both were tasted like water down and no flavor. Pretty disappointing.
Coffee and Plants is a vibrant coffee shop in the heart of Old Pasadena. They serve a variety of plant-based coffee drinks, including the Dubai chocolate and strawberry matcha. Their coffee and pastries are delicious and unique as well.
The decor is beautiful which is perfect for a photo op. Ac, the owner, is kind and attentive which makes the whole experience even better.
Amazing pumpkin pie, loved my lavender late, and my food was pretty on point. Cute place, seems busy. We loved it. Lovely service. What a gem. #Veganuary
