Highlight Coffee - Pasadena

I stopped in for a vanilla latte to go. I wish I had more time because Highlight had a nice vibe for sitting and relaxing. Next time would be good to meet a few friends here. Service was fast and friendly and my latte was extra hot as requested and very smooth!

I have come to this coffee shop over 5 and out of those 5 times I’ve always had a a very rogue service experience. I order the same coffee lemonade and nothing else and usually get that coffee lemonade wishing 1 minute of ordering.. But, there is a pattern that I noticed, I always say “goodmorning or afternoon” before ordering to acknowledge the cashier/barista but out of all 5 times I’ve never gotten a response, even after pausing and saying it again, just a stare. Once I complete tapping my card the barista gives me my drink, I say thank you and then again, no reply..I know that there is a difference between how I feel vs with the truth is but this is not just a coincidence.. a week ago I went inside for two coffee lemonades with a friend and I decided to sit down this morning. I approach the cashier with a warm Goodmorning and again no response but just a head nod of acknowledgment (A win for what I get here usually) routine order and thank you with out acknowledgement and I sit with my friend.. 1 minute into sitting in the quiet coffee shop the cashier approaches us and decides to speak very loudly and ask us if we needed anything else in the shop and we were confused as to why we were chosen out of everyone there it was very strange.. last year I’ve sent an email to the owner about this same issue so i decided to get my own answers by sending in a certain demographic of people in the shop to see what their experience was and they also said they shared the same emotions and experience without me sharing my own first, this lead me to write this review. Please explore other options if you are a Altadena/Pasadena local as this place screams prejudice. There are more better places where you will be welcomed with cheerful countenance and space to exist

Probably the most perfect little coffee shop in town. Their pastries are from sugar bloom 😋

If you're want to work their space is cozy. If you just want to read and zone out you can do that. The staff are great. The owner genuinely loves coffee.

Great price, fast service, plenty of seating, a few outlets, good air conditioning, good coffee, and wifi. Plus no surcharge for milk alternatives. Checks all the boxes!

Everything here is great. I particularly like their chai lattes because they're made with real chai, not syrup. Really nice staff and cute place to sit and chat with friends.

Didn't try any food, service was fast and friendly. Coffee was delicious, but $6 each. Daughters treat.

Perfect stop after some fieldwork

Super Amazing tonics! The matcha is so fresh you can practically taste the sun and tea leaves from jeju island! Also the pineapple lime espresso tonic is so tasty!!!!! Frank the owner hand picks the best single origin chocolate from all over the world! He also special orders the tonic water from London!!! Amazing taste and service and overall 10/10 experience!!!! Everything is hand picked and the attention to detail makes this place so special!!

Great neighborhood coffee shop. Try the “Nathan Palmer”. Basically an Arnold Palmer but with coffee instead of iced tea!
