Great food, made fresh to order, with good portions. The cheung fun are made by hand - you can tell by the slightly irregular shape of the noodles. The shrimp & chives dumplings have fresh fillings. The har gow are also fresh, with the shrimp cooked just right and the wrappers have the right texture and thickness - no splitting! The won ton in the won ton soup are also made in the kitchen, not bought out frozenI've yet to explore the menu beyond the lighter offerings. The service is good, courteous, and prompt.

Food is great! The staff are always so kind, attentive, and friendly. The food is not too salty and the meat is tender.

JS Foothill Restaurant is a hidden gem for dim sum enthusiasts and lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. First and foremost, let's talk about the fried rice - it's exceptional! Each grain is perfectly cooked and infused with flavors that dance on your palate with every bite. Whether you opt for the classic vegetable fried rice or indulge in the decadent seafood version, you're in for a treat. Now, onto the dim sum. From the delicate shrimp dumplings to the savory shumai, each dim sum dish flavors burst in your mouth. But wait, there's more! The garlic broccoli is a must-try side dish. Crisp, vibrant broccoli florets are tossed in a delectable garlic sauce has perfect balance of flavors. Overall, JS Foothill Restaurant exceeds expectations in every aspect. Whether you're a dim sum connoisseur or simply craving delicious Chinese cuisine, JS Foothill Restaurant is the place to be.

Really enjoyed their seafood pan fried noodle. So glad to have found a Dim Sun restaurant so close. Didn't need to drive to SGV. Highly recommended!

This place is pretty new in Pasadena. It was on my list to try so I decided to try their lunch. It was ok. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. The chicken was overcooked and the sauce was just ok. Great service. The atmosphere was clean and modern. Huge menu with a variety of choices. Easy parking in front of the location.

The restaurant is located in the plaza with Ralph's, Jamba Juice, Peet's. Large parking lot. Easy to find parking. They have indoor seating. We didn't have to wait. They have high chairs for the kids and even plates and utensils for kids which was impressive. Once seated you get menus for their dim sum and their regular entrees. We really wanted dim sum and ordered alot and the fish porridge. I was pleasantly surprised. Every dish was delicious. I didn't use any soy sauce and each dish had flavor. The price was reasonable compared to how prices everywhere is now. The inside is fairly spacious. The staff are super friendly and attentive. This place is awesome! Food and service all great.

With the temporary closure of the Panda Inn, our go to restaurant for takeout Chinese food, we needed a reasonable alternative. On a whim I tried JS Foothill restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The food is very good, made to order, fresh ingredients. The egg foo young is very good, the pork fried rice is excellent as is the Kung Pao chicken. The service is professional and efficient. If you are in a rush please call ahead. It appears to be a family owned and operated restaurant, the level of detail in the cooking is outstanding. This is now a staple on our list and our new go to Chinese restaurant!!

Parking was easy to find and there was no wait on Sun afternoon. We ordered most of popular dim sum items. Price was higher than average dim sum places in 626 area. Tea was $2/ person. Shiu mai and ha cao were good and meaty. The BBQ pork buns and sticky rice wrapped were small in portion. There were only 2 buns instead of usual 3 and the sticky rice was only 1 piece per serving. For the price, we expect to receive a better portion or at least the same as other places. The steamed egg yolk buns were runny and flavorful. Chicken feet were also small in portion and flavor was just ok. The steamed BBQ Pork rice roll had lot of BBQ meat but the texture of the rice roll wasn't smooth. Service was quick. Clean restaurant and nice ambiance with soft music in the background.

JS Foothill is a new restaurant in the same plaza as Ralph's and Jamba Juice. The restaurant is clean, the service is good, and the food is solid. We ordered the BBQ pork fried rice, beef chow fun, and a couple dim sum dishes including the pork buns, turnip cake, and the juicy dumplings. The glazed baked pork bun is huge! We split one order (2 buns) between 4 people. I loved the music they were playing during lunch - all acoustic versions of karaoke songs.

Hidden gem in the Pasadena foothills. Placed a phone order for beef chow fun and crystal shrimp dumplings (har gow - a dim sum favorite). Food was hot and ready, fresh out of the kitchen when I walked in. The young lady at the desk was very sweet, I asked for some plates and utensils so I can share with friends and get their input as well. She was very nice and gave me everything without hesitation. There were only 2 other parties dining, but they had just opened for the day. Everything looked clean. The verdict on the food, 10 out of 10 all around!! Prices are comparable to your typical Chinese restaurant in the SGV. We will dine in next time.

Best Chinese food in the area without having to drive to Arcadia or Alhambra. It's the only Chinese restaurant in our pickup rotation. The food tastes great, owner and staff are nice, it's reliable good food. It's a very kid friendly restaurant and they give the toddlers their own plastic plate and utensils. A+ for the picture menu.

The food was good - not spectacular but very very good. We came here because someone else noted that their Beef Chow Fun was fabulous...it was good but I am still searching for a knock-your-socks-off Beef Chow Fun like what we had at Elite Dim Sum which is now closed due to a fire. The other dishes were fine - Shrimp With Honey Walnuts, Har Gow, Green Beans (very very good - my friend asked for that dish prepared without the garlic and they did it perfectly and the the beans were delicious...). I can't remember what else we got but we ordered a ton of food for two people and had plenty of leftovers to take home. Prices are good for the generous portions they give you...We'll be back.

Food was great (and I would go back). The problem, they need more wait staff. Our party of 6 arrived at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 18th. Finally got menus about 10 min. after seating, another 20 minutes waiting for order to be taken, another 20 minutes waiting for food. Still left nice tip, because it was obviously not the wait staffs fault they were understaffed. The people at the table next to us, who had already ordered when our party arrived, were still being brought their food even after ours was brought to table. As I stated at the beginning of this review - the food was really, really good. Next time I will call "to go" order in and wait about an hour before pickup. Hopefully they can hire additional employees soon....it would be a shame to have this culinary talent wasted.

Happen to be in area and this place replaced pick up stix. Great place to get your dim sum fix. I have to say the restaurant was short staffed though and busy so we understood the wait for our food and was a bit delayed. The staff was very hard working and apologetic so I hope there will be more staff to even out this establishments potential and business long term. Portion of food was larger than normal and good variety.

Do not let its appearance fool you. Looks like your typical Chinese food-to-go establishments. Nothing like the restaurants in San Gabriel. But.....literally the best Chinese food we've had, and we've had them all. Nothing in SGV, Monterey Park, Arcadia, and other places you can think of is as good as J's. Every dish will surprise you because each dish is a better version than anything you've had before. Unbelievable you say? Try it and find out for yourself
