Delicious food and a very friendly service however, it takes a very long time between each meal which it gives us hungry
From the moment we walked in, the experience was amazing. From the host to the servers, everyone was super nice, welcoming, and attentive.
The food was finger-licking good. We started with caviar service and the mussels, honestly they were the best I’ve ever had. The yellowtail sashimi literally melted in my mouth. The crispy rice was unique and perfectly done.
We also tried the coconut mango roll, escolar roll, and crispy tuna roll—every single one was incredible. To finish, we had the Black Cod, which was the cherry on top.
And I can’t forget the Dew Martini—soooo good.
Amazing food, great vibes, and top-notch service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing experience at KAVIAR Restaurant! The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish exceeded our expectations.
The service was just as impressive: attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling rushed. The staff truly made us feel welcome and taken care of from start to finish.
Highly recommend KAVIAR to anyone looking for excellent food and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent, and we tried the Dine LA course menu ($89) to sample their offerings. The meal started with a shared plate of truffle edamame and yuzu shishito peppers, but unfortunately we couldn't detect any noticeable truffle or yuzu flavor. The crispy rice was closer to hard rice than crispy. Although this is a sushi restaurant, the tacos were comparable to what you might find at a taco truck, and the sushi quality felt closer to food court sushi. The truffle toro sashimi came with caviar but was heavily dominated by truffle oil. The yuzu yellowtail, topped with a slice of jalapeño, tasted more like ceviche than a Japanese dish. We tried both the wagyu striploin steak and the miso-glazed black cod. Portions were extremely small — three thin slices of steak (more like K-BBQ slices than a steak) and a very small cube of black cod. We also tried two rolls. The toro roll was overly covered with truffle oil, and the spicy yellowtail escolar felt more experimental than refined. Service was comparable to a typical LA food court experience. Overall, I would recommend this place mainly if you're looking for a spot with a good atmosphere to enjoy drinks, rather than for the food itself.
If your in the pasadena area and you dont go this place you are missing out. An unforgettable experience for my family

Our experience was disappointing. The first order took 1 hour to arrive, and the second order took 56 minutes. When we asked to cancel an item, the server said it was ready and offered it for free, but we didn’t want it because we were already full. The server didn’t check on us while we were waiting and assumed we had everything, but we were still missing an item. The service was poor, and the food was nothing special. I wouldn’t return. Reviews online had seemed good, but our experience was the opposite.

The food we received was outstanding and the restaurant has a cool vibe, but this was the worst dining experience I've ever had. We had a 6pm reservation and showed up on time and were seated immediately. Our waitress took our drink and appetizer order. And then everything went off the rails for us and those tables around us. We did not receive our drinks until almost an hour later and one of our drinks was incorrect. We did not receive our corrected drink, nor our appetizer until about thirty minutes later, at which point our server finally took our entree order. We are 90 minutes in at this point. The bartender, who brought our corrected drink, said that it was going to be taken off the bill (it wasn't originally). At this point, I could hear several tables around us grumbling about the service, so our issues were not unique to us. Our table and the tables around us were provided a comped appetizer, but the bartender (who served it) didn't tell us that - he just dropped it on the table and said, "here you go." We (finally) received one of our entrees at approximately 8:30 pm, but we did not receive the sushi we ordered until approximately 30 minutes thereafter AND we had to ask the server to bring it (and we received only 1 of 2 rolls we ordered). Similar issues were at other tables as well, as one table, who was seated at the same time as us, asked "do you guys serve food here?" We saw people sharing food with other tables while waiting on their order. We walked out close to 9pm, and while some of our food was comped, not all of it was, despite being told that it would be. After 3 hours, we didn't care and just wanted to leave. To be fair, I don't think all of these issues falls on our server, who was young and inexperienced. She tried hard and apologized for the issues we experienced. She appeared to have a full dining room to herself, so management's scheduling and an incredibly slow kitchen seemed to contribute to the issues we experienced.
Amazing food, I want to come back to try other menus

Great food quality and ambiance. The service was very good, our sever did a great job in explaining the dishes and provided good recommendations.
Kaviar is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. The sushi is very fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is warm & clean. The staff is very welcoming and the hospitality is everything. If you’re thinking of a sushi spot in the Pasadena Los Angeles area, I will not hesitate to give it a try, you will not regret it and don’t forget to take a friend or family because the atmosphere is very spacious & welcoming to families and friends.

We visited Kaviar in Pasadena for our wedding anniversary, and the entire experience was exceptional. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and the staff delivered attentive, knowledgeable service throughout the evening.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the A5 Wagyu, which was prepared to perfection—tender, flavorful, and truly memorable. The Truffle Toro was equally impressive, offering a rich, refined flavor profile that showcased the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chef.
From start to finish, our evening was outstanding. Kaviar provided the perfect setting for a special occasion, and we left already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a high-end dining experience in Pasadena.
