I'm giving this place one star because the staff were attentive and super sweet and kind to us and our dogs. My review is 100% about the food. We ordered a seared tuna salad where slices of seared tuna was served on a bed of mixed greens. The mixed greens were, mixed greens but the seared tuna was absolutely horrifically disgusting. It smelled extremely fishy and was dry and chewy and more cooked than seared and almost tasted like it had freezer burn but they tried to salvage it, we were absolutely horrified this was served. Imagine like a half raw half cooked, seared tuna chewy jerky type thing that leaves a fishy aftertaste. We gave the rest to our dogs as we could not stomach it. I can't fathom how that was served and was charged $23 for that and a bowl of greens. We went ahead and paid the bill and left but this review is almost necessary. I don't review often at all, but the reviews I do leave is when I'm just in disbelief. You simply CANNOT consciously serve food like that.
Lemon Tree is a hidden gem. This is my first time coming to this restaurant. I say a hidden gem because it is located off the Old Town Pasadena a bit on Holly. However the food were fantastic! Their service was excellent. My husband loved the Benedict he ordered. He had the crab Benedict which they actually use good quality crab meat and very generous. I ordered a waffle. It was super good! There are nice outdoor seating which would be very nice. The day we went were about 85° outside so we opt for the inside option. Parking- you will need to find street parking around the area. Download the "Passport" App to pay for meter in this Pasadena area. Very convenient. I do that all the time! Highly recommend you give it a try when you are in town! Good luck! :)

Here today for my Mothers Day breakfast and honestly couldn’t have found a better restaurant! The iced sea salt caramel coffee was to die for! Don’t even get me started on the banana foster fresh French toast and caramelized banana…OMG! The chicken and waffles with gravy, holy moly! We also had the eggs Benedict and meat lover omelette. The ambience, the food and the service, all fantastic! You must come here if you are in town!!
one of the best avocado toasts we’ve had. this place needs more recognition— best breakfast in pasadena !!
I fell in love with this little cafe, passed it first try to find it, second time around we noticed the yellow umbrellas. We sat outside in the crisp air, great atmosphere, music was romantic. Coffee was hot and tasty. Eggs Benedict was so fresh with wonderful flavor. The whole experience made for a lovely morning bunch.

This was a great little place. The food was excellent. I had the salmon eggs Benedict. My friend had the simple breakfast, and we shared some from French toast. The salmon was fresh, the potatoes were crisp, and the French toast was new and interesting it had crushed cornflakes on it? The service was delightful, I think cause we were the only diners in there at 8 a.m. but as the morning progressed, more folks showed up but the service was still excellent! The vibe was chill and friendly. Next time in Pasadena, I will be back!

What an excellent find! We first went on a Sunday morning and ordered the eggwich sandwich and the regular Benedict. Both were so good (and so was the coffee) that we opted to come again Monday. Had the caprese toast and the bananas foster French toast. Both excellent. Both days were busy but not packed with folks. As others have noted, the prices are nominally higher than other breakfast joints, but the food was great, so we were okay with it. The service was a bit slow, but in these post-covid days, that has almost become a norm, so our feathers weren't ruffled by it. Food service folks deserve some grace and patience from the patrons.

It’s my first time dining in and I love the California orchard inspired interior. The steak and baby potatoes were tender. The lemon tree pancake was sweet and tart; the lemon dill butter was a nice contrast. I need to come back and try their other items.
Husband and I tried this place last weekend, early in the morning when they just opened. It was really empty, which I actually preferred. The next customers didn't even come in until after we had finished up and paid the tab. It's super cute and cozy inside. I love the bench seating options against the walls and windows. They had cushions, which made it very comfy. The lighting in the restaurant was great (gotta get those photos, amirite?). There was plenty of street parking but because it is Old Town, it wasn't free but that's okay-- it wasn't super expensive or anything. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We were both pleased with what we got. My husband ordered the Meat Lover Omelette while I got the Bulgogi Benedict with avocado added. Both came with a delicious side of (I think) baby dutch potatoes. Yummy!!!I loved my Benedict! I'd say it was at least in the top three best versions of Eggs Benedict that I've ever eaten. The meat was perfectly marinated and bursting with flavor. I liked the spinach underneath. Everything was just so good. Our server came back several times to check on us and make sure we were enjoying everything. She was so pleasant and nice, so we made sure to tip a little extra as well. The one con was that it was a little bit on the pricier side, especially when we started adding things like vanilla flavoring to my latte ($1.50 extra for that syrup). Otherwise, there were really no complaints. It's a great place to go for breakfast or brunch with the girlfriends!

This was a veread cute little place and Pasadena. We were looking for breakfast before we headed Norris to San Jose. We had stayed in the nearby hotel. It wasn't open as early as I would have expected. But it was well worth the wait . We had eggs Benedict and fantastic service. Coffee was fresh and hot, food was served as it was ready. Staff were friendly from the moment they opened the door. The ambience inside was very cute. Reminded me of a French cafe. Parking is kind of limited but it worked out fine for us.
Restaurantji Recommends
I got the bulgogi eggs benedict. They were really good and the staff was super friendly and attentive to how much coffee I had. The food came out quick and you cold taste the freshness of everything. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for good food.
Great food and service. Be sure to call in ahead of time if you have a large party so they can prepare. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming and so pretty. There is also plenty of outdoor seating for those who would prefer some fresh air.The coffee here is good and pairs well with their delicious eggs Benedict. Their chicken fried steak is really good and huge!Street parking in front and it is free until 11am so show up for breakfast!
Great brunch place but they're definitely under staffed. We usually take them to-go to avoid the crowd but the food taste so much better when dining in. Their short ribs benedict is amazingly great. I also enjoyed their fish and chips. The California omelette was so-so but I do like their serving of baked small potatoes than fried hash in other places. Healthier option for sure.
