The store owner seems to have made a policy change on the fly to his business today, 3/18/24. I stopped by his store with a backpack (which I usually bring as my shopping bag). I was greeted upon entering as usual, was in his store about 10 minutes, and it wasn’t until I was preparing to pay that he decided to bring it to my attention that I needed to leave the backpack at the entrance and not carry it around in the store. I told him that I’m not a “thief” and that I don’t feel comfortable leaving it at the entrance because someone could take off with it. He then replied, “I know you’re a nice guy but by you carrying a backpack might lead others to believe it’s ok.” The no-backpack policy is not posted anywhere in the store. Now mind you, I’ve been a customer at this store for years. They do make some good guacamole. Yet he’s never said anything about it until today. Pretty sad for him to think that by bringing my shopping bag backpack into the store, it might somehow attract shoplifters. So please, to anyone reading this, leave your backpack at home or you might fall into his stereotype. If his comment is out of fear, that’s what insurance is for. Zero stars for this experience.

I have been going to this market for a few years BUT will probably stop going. The owners are rude and not honest. They have messed up , a few times on my receipt ( on purpose ) BUT get mad , when i have confronted them about it. I went last nite , spent about 67.00. But made the mistake , not asking prices ( beforehand ) and checking receipt right away , in front of him. I go tonite and he was so rude. Wouldn't tell me the price of a loaf a bread ,or another item. Basically he didn't want to hear it , and said i should of said something last nite ( and not come 2 or 3 days later !!! ) it was only last nite. Beware, they lie and will charge u more , even if its .25 cents or 2.00, they will try and do it !!!! Very dishonest. I love to support , local businesses , but not if they are rude and lie !!!!

I want to support local businesses , and have been going here for few years , BUT the owners are rude and dishonest. A few times, i have been charged the wrong prices ( on purpose ) and when i brought it up , both the wife and husband , got mad and had attitude !!! I went last nite , spent 67.00 ( but made the mistake , didn't ask ) the prices of certain items. So when i went tonite , tried asling how much the loaf of bread is , he said he doesn't know ???!!!! What !!!! That right there, tells me , u charge different prices , depending what day or who it is for. It is dishonest !!!! He said , i should of checked , when i was there last nite ( not come 2 or 3 days later , WTH , its one day later !! But he didn't want to hear it. He is a liar like his wife. I do not care if its .10 cents or 1.00 , BE HONEST and charge what u say ur charging. Doubt i go again , rather support an honest business !!!! ( his wife had said , it was the computer that messed up , but her husband , wdn't even acknowledge my receipt or certain charges on it. I tried asking him , how much the bread is , that i had bought , he goes , " i don't know , that was last nite " ( huh...doesit change dailey ) then he got sarcastic, and goes its 5.99 !!! Smart ass

Most recent update. The store is dirty, disgusting, and there are flies everywhere!The meat is not fresh and was rotten! The cheese was rotten! I went back to ask for a refund and store owner refused to give me a refund and was rude!

This place has THE worse carne asada meat to cook. This meat is one of the lowest quality I have had in a very long time. I wet to get several pounds of meat for a family gathering and this thing is completely dry. High quality meat has to have certain amount of fat, but this thing is so darn dry NOTHING comes out of it. No juice or anything. I also tried pan seared it but the meat was completely dry and flavorless. No matter how I cooked it it came out like beef jerky. I even went back and order more meat and I asked them to cut it thicker and the result was the same. Plain dry carne asada. This marked used to have one of the best carne asada but definitely not anymore. It is terrible and nobody at my party was happy with the carne asada. Este es la peor tienda que vende carne asada. La carne es completamante seca y no produce nada de jugo. Es de mul mala y baja calidad. La trate de cosinar de diferentes maneras pero en la fiesta de familia que hice a NADIE le gusto. La carne que estan vendiendo aqui es una de las peores carnes asadas que yo e comido. Nadie en mi fiesta de familia estubo contento con la carne asada.

This store provided needed foods and products during the 2020 COVID pandemic that I couldn’t find at the big chain stores. Their staff is friendly and I value them in my neighborhood. Also, they have wonderful fresh chicharonnes for those who are into that particular pork product ??

The Best Carne Ranchera in Pasadena and also i love buying Tomatoes they are always soooo red and fresh, I also buy other veggies if they have them and usually are fresh also and I grab their Green and Red salsas and the fresh homemade Guacamole! Delicious!!!!
