This restaurant is a true hidden gem. The ambiance is stunning...outdoor dining surrounded by warm lighting and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. I usually visit on Thursdays when the mariachi band performs, and the live entertainment is top-notch, adding an authentic and joyful touch to the experience. You can see the pride of ownership in every detail, from the quality of the food and drinks to the service and entertainment. Everything feels genuine and thoughtfully done. For busy professionals, this place is a perfect reminder to slow down and enjoy life’s finer moments. It’s more than just a meal, it’s an experience worth making time for.

Was there with a large party so food came out quite late. The short ribs looked like shredded beef so I was a bit disappointed, and the price didn't help. Overall, I would go back and try other food. The drinks were delish!!

Went out with my brother in law, wife and two kids. I got the birria taco plate and Paloma to drink. The food was amazing. We normally don’t get dessert but we were interested in trying their unique desserts as well. We ordered the tres leche carrot cake and shared. My wife is a carrot cake fan and I’m a tres leches fan and we both agreed the cake was perfect.

I always forget about this place because it's small & on Union in Pasadena, but it's a great place for an elevated Mexican meal.

Maestros restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We kicked off our meal with the hand-made guacamole served with crispy fried banana chips, a fun and flavorful twist on a classic appetizer. The queso fundido was rich and perfectly melted, paired beautifully with the soft, freshly made tortillas that added an authentic touch.

For our main course, we enjoyed the arrachera, birria, and green chicken enchiladas — each dish bursting with flavor and clearly crafted with care. The arrachera was tender and smoky, while the birria had a deep, comforting richness. The enchiladas were bright and zesty, striking a great balance with the other plates. Every bite reflected quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation.

To finish, we shared the Tres leches carrot cake, which was nothing short of spectacular — moist, spiced just right, and soaked perfectly in that signature creamy blend. The entertainment throughout the evening added a vibrant energy, and the staff was impressively attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. Maestros is a place where great food, service, and ambiance come together seamlessly.

The establishment should admit that its “award winning” days are behind it. The price point is definitely off—do NOT order the ceviche—it’s mostly cucumber and lemon. Do NOT get the oysters, they’re not fresh. Do NOT get the sea bass, it’s frozen and served on prepackaged(?)baked beans. The service was terrible, but it wasn’t our server’s fault, they had that poor bastard on like six full tables. We had a reservation for seven and got seated at 7:25, our appetizers arrived around 8:10 and long before our drinks. So, to compensate, we ordered a second round when the main courses arrived. The second round got to our table when we were done eating. Such a disappointment. We were lucky we had great company and salvaged the evening with conversation and laughs. Shame… the first time I dined there I had this half chicken in adobo sauce plate that was just wonderful, alas, it was no longer on the menu. In fact, the menu is now nothing you cant get at some chain like El Cholo and for far less. Did I mention the ceviche was just cucumbers and lemon juice? Stay away.

How does a Mexican restaurant not have salsa? It was heartbreaking to eat here, was very excited, but the food was not it. I ordered the carne en su jugo and the meat was very slimy. They also don’t have chips and salsa, they only had plantain chips. Very Americanized, def not good if you’re looking for a decent mexican meal. I asked for salsa and they brought me a tomato sauce. So sad, it was so expensive too. I ended up going down the street to Tacos 1986 to get a taco after our expensive dinner to fix my craving. The service was great!

Elevated yet authentic Mexican cuisine. From execution of traditional dishes to their presentation. My fave is their ceviche, grilled-octopus fidéo, chile en nogada and their carrot 3 leches (& guava cheesecake) Their drinks are expertly crafted. From their margaritas to their Cáfe de Olla Martini. Ownership and management are just lovely. Very warm & welcoming aways. Hospitality and Customer Service is on point. So very attentive. Mariachi entertainment on Thursdays and boleros on some Saturdays. Sunday brunch is divine! I mean: churro French toast!
