Tasty Argentinian spot with friendly service. Came here for lunch with my parents and had a reservation, which we made online in advance. Street parking available. We were greeted with complimentary bread with chimichurri sauce. We shared a meat platter including chorizo and short ribs - the meat came out sizzling hot and was tasty. It came with three different types of sauces. We ordered a salad to start as well as some fries and fried calamari (you need balance in life). The fries were really crispy as was the calamari. We ended with some crepes, which was probably overdoing it as we had leftovers, but the crepes with ice cream sounded like a sweet way to end the meal. Restrooms are located in the back right. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
We had a grea lt experience. They have one of the best octopus appetizers in Los Angeles. It's excellent. Always consistent. Great dinner.
We came to celebrate 2 birthdays with our group. We absolutely loved everything we ordered and our service was outstanding.
Absolutely amazing service. So accommodating. The skirt steak and ribeye were so delicious.
Malbec is our favorite restaurant in town. The food and service are always exceptional!!!! Thank you ☺️
The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The wine was pricey but it was a nice rosé for $52. The last time we went to Malbec it was on a Saturday night and until it thinned out at about 745 you could not hear yourself think. This time we went at 5:30 on a Sunday night in the annex it was certainly loud and lively but you could easily carry on a conversation. We will definitely return. Historically we have come here on our anniversary but the tuna tartare was so good that we will definitely find other days to celebrate!
A local Pasadena gem. Wonderful owners and staff. Consistently outstanding. Been coming here for 15 years. Great Argentinian food and wine selection outstanding.
Excellent as always. Malbec always delivers great food and drinks ant a very reasonable (comparatively) price.
Malbec was chosen due to the positive reviews on Yelp; it was selected as a birthday dinner treat for my husband's birthday. We were seated very promptly and was initially well taken care off by server, Rosa B. We placed our order for the following: Ojo De Bife 16 oz Rib Eye (medium), Cazuela del Sur with pasta, Bife De Chorizo 16 oz New York (medium rare), Pulpo Al Aji Amarillo, Ensalada De La Casa and Mascarpone Cheesecake. The non steak items came out pretty good-special mention to the home made pasta, which was extremely done well. My husband's Ojo De Bife 16 oz Rib Eye, ordered as a "medium" steak came out raw, with blood, and a dark red center (slightly bigger than a quarter). Our server Rosa B. apologized and agreed that the steak did not look medium and brought it back to the kitchen. Another lady, the hostess who sat us brought back the same steak, re-cooked a second time, to my husband. This re-cooked steak came, piping hot, with obvious smoke coming out, was served to him. We asked if they recooked the same raw steak and this hostess replied yes, she added "since it was undercooked"; no apologies nor further comment was made by her, who simply walked away. Note: medium steak, when cooked correctly should have a warm, pink center, with a warm exterior. This wasn't the case for the re-cooked steak! My husband chose not to make make a scene and opted to eat the steak as it was served overcooked, and ruined. In my opinion, a steak should not be re-cooked if it wasn't done right the first time. To add, Malbec presents with a open kitchen concept - we did not see the chef present, the kitchen staff were all observed to be young and most likely did not know what they were doing. If the kitchen staff were inexperienced, they could have at the least used a meat thermometer, which could have prevented my husband's steak from being served raw the first time around. Service after being served a raw steak went downhill: no one came to refill our empty water glass, no
Lovely! We were a party of three and ordered the seafood rice, the mixed plate of short rib steak, skirt steak and Argentinian chorizo, and grilled corn on the cob to share. All dishes were excellent. Service was superb. We will return.

Host was not very welcoming or friendly. The place is super-noisy , I had trouble listening to my friend across the table. Very slow service. We've been going Malbec for many years, my first really subpar experience with them.
Very nice and really good food 👌

Very few waiters that we're trying to serve everyone. They need to hire a couple of more to provide better service.
High quality Argentinian food. Sweetbreads were fantastic. Great service as well

I believe the price is very high by an extra 20-30% or so compared to what was received and the name of the place. I expected authentic Argentine style cuisine. It is more of an American style of Argentine food, intended for the blandest of palets. While the meats were tender and juicy, it is balanced with tiny portions. Normally that is automatically balanced with a side of something, but here that is an extra cost, or if you get a premium side, much more. I should mention that everything from the bar was mixed very well. I would give the bar mixes a B+. I went on a busy Saturday dinner rush, so getting the waiter's attention did require a bit more effort. Additional loss of value when you need to use the bathrooms. Hold your breath and ignore the worst designed bathroom on earth. Final thoughts are hard to find parking. Skip this place unless you have an expensive client to impress with you paying a large bill.
