We thought we were going to an independent taqueria, but this is actually a Veggie Grill. We enjoy that chain, but one star here for seriously deceptive advertising. "Mas Veggies" is not a Spanish translation for "Veggie Grill," nor is that how the business is registered with the CA Secretary of State. (Yup, I was hangry so I checked.) It even describes itself as a "Mexican Restaurant" on Google Maps. Having tacos on your menu doesn't make you a Mexican restaurant any more than McDonald's french fries make it a French restaurant. Shame on you, Veggie Grill marketing dept.

THIS IS ACTUALLY VEGGIE GRILL!!!! I thought I was going to a new, independent, locally owned vegan restaurant, but this is actually a ghost kitchen at Veggie Grill. You are supposed to order online only, but the lady at the counter was nice enough to take my order and explain the situation to me because I was definitely irritated and confused. It does mention Veggie Grill in the description, but I just jumped straight to reviews and skipped over that. I had the mushroom taco and tejano taco. Both were yummy! The tejano taco has a kick & is messy so get a fork.
I don’t get the bad reviews! The food is really good and I never had issues with any order.

The prices were high for Mexican fast food but I thought it would be worth it for the quality. I was wrong. I’m generally easily satisfied but I could barely eat the few things I tried. Didn’t taste like Mexican food. They tried to get too complicated but didn’t put in the love. I would choose Chipotle or Del Taco over this any day. They should start simple and focus on mastering their beans and rice first. Unfortunately I have yet to find good vegan Mexican food in Pasadena. Someone please open a spot. Better to eat from the Veggie Grill menu.

Every time I order with my friends people ask me for salsa on the side or extra salsa and this place doesn’t allow you to choose either option. I have eaten here three times - and Iove their food; but I will not order here again. There’s so many other local options that are just as good and allow you to order what you actually want!The other thing - I ordered a group order for 11 people, everyone had different ingredients - did they mark the food? Not clearly. Nobody knew who’s burrito was who’s … it was a nightmare. We were cutting burritos in half trying to guess which one had salsa in it. It was really embarrassing - I convinced 10 non-vegan coworkers to give this place a try and most were sorely disappointed with the process of figuring out which burrito or bowl was theirs. Also, we ordered 11 items, and not only did they say NO to extra salsa, they only gave us 4 tiny salsa cups - not even one for every order!I’m insanely disappointed- and I don’t like to give bad reviews - but this is just embarrassing- in my opinion.
