Ordered the original pancakes. Texture is like soufflé. Not really sweet unless you add the syrup.
So soft and delicious! It takes a bit of time to prepare, but it’s definitely worth the wait. I had the cream pancakes and they were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended!
Tasty souffle pancakes and delicious drinks
We got it during their happy hour, so we got a few dollars off
Also, keep in mind that the souffle takes a while to get it served. Since it is fleshy made, it takes a bit. The wait didn't disappoint, though,
They do have a really good variety of drinks with boba, so I definitely recommend it specially during a hot summer
The souffle pancakes are very tasty, but why are they only available for lunch? The hours for this restaurant are silly and don't make sense for that.
Finally had the opportunity to try Motto Tea Cafe. We had the mango matcha drink and mango Souffle Pancakes. The place has nice covered outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. You have to use the kiosks to place your order which was pretty easy and had plenty of options. They made our drink pretty fast. The Souffle Pancakes took about 30 minutes since they are freshly made which is typical for this dish. I appreciate that they had a sign advising of the wait time.
The cups used at many of these types of places for these drinks are cleverly designed to be tall and concaved to make it look like you are getting a really huge drink...which you are not. I added an entire tiny cup of water when we were about 75% done and it filled it up more than half way. Don't get me wrong, the drink was absolutely delicious and looked amazing!
The Mango Souffle Pancakes were delicious as well. The white sauce was not sweet but creamy. The mango sauce and fruit added the right amount of sweetness and the drink more than satisfied our sweetness cravings. Overall great experience.
We love Boba and Japanese Soufflé and can attest this stuff is legit. The best Japan/Taiwan level bobaflé in LA!!!
It's delicious. I recommend Nutellamisu mousse souffle pancake with Matcha Latte with oatmeal milk.
I will return for the Taro crepe and drink. Thanks

It’s just so much better than all the other Pasadena boba shops. It’s hard to explain why. Other places have tons of choices, fun creations, similar customer service etc. Motto is just better than the rest. Attention to detail and quality ingredients is my guess but whatever it is, we keep
Coming back here
Love their pastries and drinks. Nice to try the different flavors.

We went to celebrate my friends birthday, food friendly people, the only thing I really enjoy is ordering with people not through a machine, let's not lose the human contact!
This place deserves the 5 stars. Incredible pancakes, soft, buttery, and really delicious with the toppings, the presentation of them is also really good. The Boba was good as well, with nice flavor and it goes down smoothly. The atmosphere is very nice and calm, percent for a date with someone, or just for hanging out and doing homework. The employees have good customer service, and although they're a bit shy, they get the job done, and are very nice. It is a tad bit pricy, but I don't blame them considering this economy, in fact with the amount of stuff and effort they put into the food/Boba, it's a very reasonable price. 5 stars loved the place, will definitely come back
Order took way too long. When I asked about our order 40min later, they told me they’d basically forgotten about the order/never made them. Then it took another 20 mins after that — I went in and to ask for a refund and they told me only then were they working on our pancakes (as in, they didn’t even prioritize our late order… seems they started us at the BACK of the queue like a new order).
The fact that they didn’t prioritize our order when I initially asked about it is insane (they weren’t even busy).
Pancakes were just ok. Will not be returning.

I recently visited Motto Tea Cafe with my husband while visiting my brother in LA, and while we initially thought we found a gem, our experience was mixed, which is why I’m giving 3 stars.
On our first visit, the brulee cake and drinks were amazing, and we were really impressed with the gentleman who served us—he made it a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the next day was quite different. The lady who served us was extremely rude. When we greeted her, she didn’t bother to acknowledge us, which we initially brushed off, thinking she might have been distracted. However, it soon became clear that she wasn’t interested in providing any level of customer service.
She spent the entire time chatting with a coworker, completely ignoring the line of customers and showing no interest in what anyone had to say. Her attitude was incredibly negative, and the way she looked at everyone made it obvious she wasn’t happy to be there. When she finally brought our order to the table, she practically threw the plate at us. The cake was out of shape and had spilled a bit due to how carelessly she handled it.
If she dislikes her job that much, I hope management encourages her to find something else. There’s no reason to make customers suffer from such poor service, especially when the food and drinks are actually good.

I've tried other boba shops, but when it comes to the Pasadena area, Motto is up there as one of my favorites. The options are varied, the service is so streamlined that the orders get fulfilled super quickly, and the shop has touchscreen ordering kiosks, which makes the whole ordering process very fast and efficient.
Special shoutout to both Cat & Beca, who helped my friend and I with our orders and were, at all times, both helpful and professional.
They even fulfilled my silly extra order of cheese foam (yes, I literally bought a tiny, side container of cheese foam because of how much I had enjoyed it after I had finished my regular boba milk tea drink with cheese foam in it).
Make sure to get your drink with cheese foam, one of the MUST HAVE toppings of this place.
