My wife and I went here a week ago and managed to get food poisoning. We were a bit disappointed by the food portion and size, especially as it's so expensive. The price wasn't worth the size.My wife and I unfortunately got food poisoning on the same night from here, as it was the only same food we had. The fish was not fresh and did not taste right. My wife was still finishing off food and a waiter with a hat tried to take it away from her whilst still eating...I would no recommend.

I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately, the food wasn't good at all. Freshness and flavor was lacking, and the portion to price ratio was laughable. There are better options. This place wasn't built for the Asian palate. Just zoom into the cucumber of my salmon roll. The extra star goes to the staff. Our server was nice and attentive.

Food is alright. Service was bad. I had a stomach issue so I ordered nabeyaki udon while the rest of the table ordered sushi dishes. Maybe they were unhappy about that-- I order just an udon dish at dinner time. Udon order went in first before anything, even before restaurant got the dinner rush but didn't come out for almost one hour. Udon tasted decent but I don't think the sushi dishes were worth the price. Much rather go to Sugar Fish or other authentic sushi restaurants owned by Japanese.

What happened to you OJI Sushi ? you used to be great, but you fell off!!!Hot rolls were cold, some rolls fell apart, the fish didn't taste fresh, and on and on... Overall 2 stars and I'm being generous. This place is a No Go! Also common sense is not common when it comes to some of the wait staff. How do you bring out food for people that sat 15 minutes after us!The only reason for the second star is Jeff he is trying his best, but overall he alone can't save this restaurant he needs a better chef than the guy he has now.

We had a wonderful date night dinner here before catching a play at the Pasadena Playhouse nearby! Their fish is fresh and rolls are creative and flavorful, service is beyond excellent, and we loved the wall art and the vibe! The vibe is so hip and welcoming here - we were so pleasantly greeted and immediately seated. Their decor is super fun! Tons of wall art - paintings and sculptures and all sorts of odds and ends - fantastically entertaining! Staff are all wonderful - we had 3 different people check on us to make sure we were happy and well taken care of. We ordered 3 rolls to share: the Spicy Scallop Roll, Red Dragon Roll, and Snow White Roll. The Snow White Roll was my absolute fave (maybe ever!!) - it has crab, avocado, and cream cheese in, with baked tilapia on top! So unique - first time I've ever seen a roll with baked tilapia and that's one of my fave fishes - it was excellent! Flavorful and soft and a nice sauce on top - highly recommend. The Red Dragon Roll was delish too - comes with spicy tuna and cucumber inside and fresh tuna and avocado outside - again, great flavor combos and awesome presentation. The Spicy Scallop Roll was my least fave - but only bc of personal preference and nothing to do with the restaurant. Scallops are always hit or miss for me and I can take them or leave them. This roll had a nice flavor but I don't care for the raw scallops. Their prices here are on par with the area and the quality justifies it totally. They have a Yelp check in offer of one free small hot sake per table. They have patio seating, booths and tables inside, as well as seating at the sushi bar. The location is wonderful - very walkable with lots of nearby attractions. Lots of street parking (unlimited time after 6pm) and also paid garages in the area. We walked over before getting dessert and then seeing a play nearby - a great idea for an awesome date night!

Oji is such an overlooked gem! We wanted sushi for a date night and decided on this place because of the location and the reviews saying the fish was so fresh. They weren't wrong! The fish was the best I've had in some time. My usual sushi spot serves great food but this is absolutely a cut above. Service was super quick as soon as we walked in. We were given a table and our drink order was immediately taken. Hot sake and cold beer came to the table quickly. I had to try the garlic chili edemame and it did not disappoint. Flavorful and delicious with just enough spice to pair well with the drinks. I ordered the chirashi and my wife got the pacific roll and a veggie hand roll. Everything came to the table quick and as soon as I had a bite... I was sold. The fish was all really buttery soft. Every bite was better than the last and after I was done, I ordered one more plate, an order of the albacore sashimi because it was the best thing on the chirashi. Had the sashimi and every piece was delicious! I mean I miss it today because it was so tasty. I cannot wait to go back! You really should try this place. Everything was perfect for our date night!

Oji is a great spot! We came in a group of five and there was something for everyone. I recommend starting out with the Garlic Chili Edamame, which was absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was tasty, including the sushi, sashimi, and udon noodle soup. The sushi rice had just the right flavor and texture and the fish was very fresh. The waitress was really nice and actually recognized my friend because she had been there a few times before. All the food was brought out quickly and we were able to order more as we went. Overall, I had a great experience here and would totally come back the next time I'm in town!

My husband and I live walking distance from here and have been coming since it opened and even ordered pick up during the pandemic. We would always rave to everyone about it. Recently their prices increased a lot which we totally understand as everything has gone up but sadly their quality has gone down so much. I would give them in the past 10 stars if I could. Now a solid 3.5 out of 5. Service has gone down too. Not what it use to be.

A go to everytime my family or friends are in town. Franklin (manager) and Josh (sushi chef) are so warm and welcoming. The food is consistently amazing and they’re always doing special deals on their menu. Couldn’t ask for more from a sushi spot. Must try!
