Passed by this several times. I decided to go in last night and I had a great time. I ordered the mixed tempura, shumai and the ribeye with spicy broth. I loved everything. The service was on point, as soon as we were about to enter, the waiter was getting our settings ready. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed.

A little hidden gem in Pasadena in a very unassuming small plaza! I've been to so many hot pot places and Oseyo does it best. Meat quality is great, veggies are fresh, soup is flavorful, and sauces are absolutely great. Nothing beats their quality with their prices. I always get their sukiyaki with chicken while my partner always gets spicy miso with the angus beef. I also sub the rice for extra veggies and it's free of charge! They don't mind how many times you ask for sauce refills too I get like 3 bowls of their goma sauce because it's THAT good! Hot drops are actually hot too! I have been to other places that have hot drops and they aren't even spicy???? Parking is a bit tight but there's plentiful street parking!

I wanted to try a new hot pot spot tonight, and came here based on the amount of good reviews. It did set our expectations a bit higher going in.The regular scallop roll was not bad, off to a good start. However, the meat quality here is simply subpar to most other places in this area. I'd rather go to an AYCE spot. The silky pork was super lean and not appetizing. The vintage ribeye sounded amazing from the menu, but turns very tough in a few seconds, not melty at all. There's hardly marbling. The only meat that's bearable was the beef belly, but it's pretty thick like cuts I would see used in kbbq. There's way better beef belly closer to me in Arcadia. The soup base was minimal, the ladle did not work well with the pot and was misshaped. It made scooping anything awkward. Lastly, that goma sesame sauce tastes too much like mayo and not in a good way. I don't think I'd come here again. I feel misled by most of the reviews as well as the description of the meat on the menu vs what was served. The only redeeming qualities here are cleanliness and the good service.

The angus prime beef is my normal go to, this place is easy, minimal wait and gets your Shani craving curved. It feels like a home style restaurant, where the pots are overly large for one person, the seating arrangement is a little awkward and the staff is friendly. I normally always get the spicy miso soup paste however, this time they have a new added soup item which includes the spicy tomato base. I've tried this before at another Shabu restaurant and really enjoyed it so I was excited to try the spicy tomato base I was a little disappointed to learn that, if you choose to specialty soup bases, even though it's a split in the pot, you pay the extra for both suitcases. The other restaurants I've been to have never really charge for miso as in extra to the suitcase, but regardless, if you choose to specialty soup bases, even though it's a split in the pot, you pay the extra for both soup bases. The veggies seemed a little bit lacking compared to before it was mostly cabbage, and a few slices of mush and a squash, which I love and some small spinach leaves, and a few of the bok choy leaves and two slices of carrot. So we ended up ordering an extra plate of mushrooms, which was a great portion for just a few dollars and Also ordered a side of tofu, but that was only a very small amount for a few dollars as well. This isn't the fanciest and most elaborate Shabu place however, it is easy and easy out and gives you a good sense of healthy soup base meal without you having to clean your veggies, dishes, and all the accessories affiliated with a meal! I enjoy my time here, and the different options that they provide.

Came back to O'seyo after a long long time (the first and only time I had ever been here prior was when they first opened). I got the Certified Angus Prime shabu set (normal size) and to be honest, I was not very impressed. At $20-25 for most of their shabu's, they also charge additional for all of the broths outside of kombu. I'm pretty shocked because they don't give a lot of meat in their normal size, but the price is pretty up there. And to charge extra for a sukiyaki or tomato-based broth seems a bit strange to me. The initial serving of rice is very small (like a small ice cream scoop) and they didn't clarify if additional rice is free or not so I assumed it wasn't. The variety of vegetables was small and they served it on a large bed of napa cabbage which may come off sneaky or stingy to some. I ate every morsel and grain of rice and left feeling satiated - but for the price, I feel like other places might be better in terms of value. The servers were very friendly and your order is brought out quickly. The waitresses will also proactively remove your empty plates, and ask if you need more sauces or broth refills if it's looking empty. They have a parking lot, and also plenty of free street parking if the lot is full. I would expect to pay about $30+ per person after tax and tip.

One of our favorite Shabu places. We always get the spicy miso broth (which is definitely not spicy but very flavorful) as well as the beef. The sides of vegetables and udon noodles are a perfect portion and we always leave super full.Customer service is always great. Sometimes there may be a line or wait if you're coming during the weekends so make sure to get here early or come on weeknights. They have a parking lot so usually not an issue to find parking. If they're packed, there's plenty of parking on the street.Overall a solid place for shabu! Recommended.

My absolute favorite spot to go to. The staff is so wonderful, we've been coming here for so long that they always welcome us with open arms.We typically get the Certified Angus Prime shabu set with either sukiyaki or spicy miso soup depending on the day.Their appetizers are delicious too (agedashi tofu, gyoza, d'humain, hand rolls to name a few)Parking is an issue sometimes because the plaza that it's located in is quite small, but you could find street parking all around. I usually go right when they open just to snag a spot without a wait!
