I'm a sandwich -a -holic and loved the Hip Bird on DARK SWEET WHEAT! Nice environment.Missed the sign though and drove past to McDonald's and had to turn around.

I drove all the way here and arrived at 11:30am and was told they’re closed until 12:30pm because they’re catering. They usually open at 11am. Was pretty frustrating. Why do they have to close the whole restaurant to cater? Couldn’t they handle their catering stuff before they opened or while they took care of regular customers? Just very confused and frustrated. The atmosphere looked nice. Not sure about the food because I didn’t get a chance to try it.

I just drove from the very far side of South Pasadena, almost in Alhambra all the way over to the location on Lincoln to get there when they opened. Hotter than you can imagine. Money on gas, time, traffic and everything else you can imagine only to get to the front door and find it locked. A handwritten sign on the front door that one could barely read saying that they’re going to open an hour and a half late, with people inside doing whatever it was that they were doing. What an absolute waste of time and everything else. I will never ever be back. Thanks for letting everybody know ahead of time. And… I was not the only one to be greatly disappointed.

You can get a Chicago dog here, but optionally swap in a turkey dog for a healthy option, or with a hot link to create a wild hybrid. They have malts too, so you can get the ultimate nostalgic lunch.

The staff welcomed me the moment I walked through the door. Very friendly and attentive. Jazz music was playing in the background. I ordered the Hip Max on sweet wheat, and man, was it GOOD! I'll definitely go back and try some of the other sandwiches, VERY soon!
