Love this local sandwich shop with a bit of history, amazing staff, and delicious food! Not typically a sandwich person, but this place is definitely working on changing my mind! The tri-tip sandwich, available on Thursday and Friday only, is amazing, nice smoky flavor and melted cheese, works just so well. The Hey Joe sandwich is great any other day of the week if you're a meat lover - pastrami, roast beef, and a hot link! Give them a go and support, my favorite type of restaurant to support, cheers!

A perfect five stars on Yelp? Let me try it. A client of mine raved about Perry's Joint sandwiches after I asked him if he has tried the famous Roma Market sandwich nearby with a line that snakes around the store. He told me that he is loyal to Perry's Joint only and recommended I try it. I was in the Altadena area and decided to finally give their "real sandwiches" a try. Perry's Joint is a locally owned neighborhood sandwich shop. The theme of the sandwich shop is jazz. After looking through the menu, there didn't seem to be anything unusual about the menu. It's your average sandwich that you definitely can make at home. If you're too lazy to make a sandwich at home, this would be the place to support a local sandwich shop instead of a corporate behemoth like a Subway or Jersey Mike's. The sandwich is piled high and made with care. The sandwiches are around $15 including the tip they ask you for. I normally would never pay that much for a sandwich. If not for the recommendation of my client, I wouldn't try it. The most popular sandwich? The tuna seems to be a favorite since they ran out. I settled for the next best thing -- a warm pastrami sandwich with bacon. It's a solid and tasty sandwich. A sandwich I would not drive out of my way for, but wouldn't mind stopping by if I was in the area again and wanted to support a locally owned black-owned business. They also serve hot dogs and Thrifty ice cream. You can also get a banana split made with Thrifty ice cream. It doesn't seem like anything is housemade as what seems popular these days at the more "hipster" cheffy modern sandwich shops appealing to a younger food obsessive demographic.

FANTASTIC shop. Great sandwiches, lovely folks behind the counter, and great ambiance. Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of parking. The Perry's hype is real.

over hyped & over priced they took 30 min (my whole lunch break) really 35 because i got there 5 min before my lunch started to then give me my sandwhich with barley cooked pastrami . all im saying is it could've been cooked more for the time i waited. none the less the sandwhich wasnt all that it literally tasted like a hot link with pastrami i couldnt even taste the condiments

I had to spend a day in Sierra Madre for a work seminar. Perry's Joint was within walking distance for lunch. I got the roast beef sandwich. It was great. The portions are generous. Half a sandwich was definitely enough on its own. Service was very friendly and fast. If I am in the area, I will definitely go back.

First of all shoutout to the hospitality of the cashier. Good vibes here for sure! I didn't rate it 5 stars due to lack of parking. Tuna Simone was delicious on squaw bread. Hey Joey is as good as it looks but I would get it without the hotdog inside next time cuz it's just too much. Freshness of ingredients are definitely tasted. Too bad they are relatively far otherwise a trip sooner would have been good.
