We went here for the first time today and really enjoyed everything that we got. I really appreciated how balanced the flavors were for each item. We'll definitely be back to enjoy the patio.

Absolutely amazing experience. Got to meet John (one of the owners) but that’s not why I like this place. The food is authentic. Reminds me of my Nonn-‘s cooking. Yes I am of American Italian descent. Great to go selection. Everything looks beautiful!Minestrone soup (which can be such a tasteless soup made by so many) is totally flavorful full of beautiful vegetables!! Sandwich I had the Italian sub was on point and you’re talking to a New Yorker !Thrilled to have found this awesome deli/eatery. By the way it’s super clean. Well organized in the staff is delightful and very helpful.Dietary restrictions: They have some gluten-free options which is really nice. They actually care and they stop and they listen.Kid-friendliness: Great patio in the back for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Great spot for handicap with wheelchair needs

Have driven by this place for years, and wanted to try the TikTok trend - Italian Chopped salad, which Porta Via makes. The cafe store is cute, with lots of tasty options. I ordered my salad and 2 desserts, and next time will take pasta iteams home.

Stumbled upon this little gem while driving down California Blvd and I am glad I stopped by. I got the Italian Sub and it was nothing short of delicious. Those who know me know that I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches, but I really like this sub. Service was great and lines moved fast. The gentleman who rang me up was very nice and friendly. They have a patio for dining in which is really nice on a sunny day. There ware restrooms here but require a key which you can ask for up at the counter. Parking here can get a little hectic but if you wait, there is bound to be someone leaving. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would come back.

Love coming here for their various paninis! Today I had the Toscano panini and it was delicious- fresh ingredients and made to order. They have a lot of other food options like cold salads(italian, broccoli), chicken Parmesan cutlet, baked ziti that all really delicious. I really like how it's like an Italian deli where you order at the counter. The staff is really nice and helpful. They have a beautiful outdoor patio as well where you can eat the food and enjoy your drink(they have a really nice espresso machine, the iced americano was so good!) it is a little pricy($19 for panini and anericano) but you pay for what you get, which is food with fresh ingredients, it's worth it. They also have a revolving sandwich of the day, that's discounted.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. It had a true deli feeling and everything looked/smelled so good. Plenty of items to purchase as well, such as dried pasta, olive oil, honey etc.I ordered the Tuscano Panini and it was ::chefs kiss::Limited seating indoors and plenty of seating in the back with heaters for the colder days.

Been many times. Even had food made for picnics, Hollywood Bowl, etc. Never been disappointed. This time, ordered the half Caesar salad with chicken and the Lentil soup with a meatball on the side. Soup was delicious. Very brothy and filling. The salad was average. The meatball was really good. Good red sauce. Love the selection here. Lots to choose from. Also, the patio seating is great especially since we have a dog.

The sandwich was good. The bread great. Cappuccino great. Though their salad was really old and unedible. Like a few days old. Gone bad. But cute store. And helpful servers.

I love this place for a quick casual lunch! Sandwiches and salads are delicious. You can even buy a bottle of wine there to enjoy as well! The outside patio is nice and shaded, parking is easy too.Vegetarian options: Got the grilled vegetable panini and it was delicious!

Great Italian Subs. I've had their prepared foods for freezing like the lasagna, excellent and very convenient. This place has been a Pasadena staple for years for good reason.

I am very disappointed, I walked in and was the only person waiting to be helped, I stood there while 7 employees behind the counter did not acknowledge me, I thought maybe they couldn't see me because I was a ghost but I finally asked if someone could help me and one of the woman came up to me with an attitude. She then said she would meet me at the register and never came over with my food. I then went up to the owner and let him know, I pointed to the woman who had the bad attitude and she proceeded to be rude and was telling me that I was lying in front of the owner so I told her not to speak to me like that. Then the owner told me not to talk to his employee like that and told me to leave!! He rewarded her for her bad behavior and horrible attitude! I will tell everyone I know who have been to this deli about my horrible experience, many of my friends belong to the Pasadena Chamber and also work for the City Of Pasadena. This horrible employee is a reflection of the owner!! He's rude and doesn't care about the patrons!! Orribile!!!!!

Service is good, they don't keep you waiting long. - Porta Via Italian Combo w/ Caesar salad 3/5 The half porta via Italian sub is mediocre. I wouldn't get it again. The Caesar salad is basic. Comes with a side of croutons (which are delicious). The dressing is good. I probably wouldn't get the combo again. - Pasta Salad 5/5 It's so yummy! It's sour and tangy but just perfectly so. There's a good balance of red onion, bell peppers, olives and pasta. Parking is free in the lot behind the store.

Porta Via is a worth a try. I must have gone there the first time around 2010 I want to say. It's across the street from Huntington Hospital. It's a fine grocery / take out place. They have some seating in the back, I like it because it's always very fresh and tasty. It's not Americanized, it's original. The prices are a little on the expensive side but it's worth the extra to me. The service behind the counter is usually quite efficient. Plus if you want to have something for home to 'cook' / put on the table with minimal work you can trust it will be good.
