Exceptional. We just discovered this place and are so impressed by the quality and taste of everything here. The service was also great - super patient, friendly and a warm local feel. Will go back for sure! Olive loaf, oat honey loaf and polenta cake are all top of our the list!

A delicious hidden gem in Pasadena. I got the quiche and it was worth it! Huge and stuffed full of veggies and flavor. I’d recommend heating it up while your there if you plan to eat soon.

Bread, food, quite good. But employee turnover is remarkably high, even for the food industry. What’s the deal? I got a taste of it (pardon the pun) yesterday. I’m a regular customer, and yesterday one part of my order was noticeably less fresh than usual. When I returned to exchange it for the much fresher baguettes, I was surprised to receive a ten minute lecture by the baker boss himself. I’m a commercially licensed bread maker in Pasadena. My two pieces of bread equaled to a grand total of $4. Instead of taking me at my word, he lectured me sternly on the properties of bread, he manhandled my entire bag of bread with his bare hands, including the ones I was keeping. 🙄 He seemed….aggressively used to being “right.” I finally completed the exchange, got my additional baguette, and left politely. I now understand clearly why they simply cannot hold onto good employees save for a couple of (forgive the assumption) loyalists to the throne. It’s too bad, and sometimes, you can taste this chaos in the food. For example, the $9 empanadas, biscotti, simply not at all better than other options - even Trader Joe’s and those are a fraction of the price. Grateful for a neighborhood bakery, yes. And, this is a nuance I wanted to share.

This spot is a fairly good sized location but they make their customers wait in a long line outside to serve them 1 at a time thru a window. And here I thought Covid was over. There were like 8 people working inside but god forbid more than one of them help make the line shorter. I went and got coffee and an amazing donut at the donut shop at the corner 50 ft away. Same people were still in line when I walked past a second time sipping on my piping hot coffee.

This bakery is incredibly delicious. I got a red pepper croissant, an apple cider doughnut, and a blueberry bar, as well as a baguette. previously I have tried the olive bread as well I. really enjoyed the friendly service and all of the goodies melted in my mouth. I was especially impressed with the sweets, which were baked to perfection and included both crunchy and soft and complex flavors that you can’t find at many other bakeries. the olive bread was delish as well, tender and literally could be eaten with anything on anything, etc. Would highly recommend anyone visiting this lovely bakery.

This is my favorite place to eat in Pasadena. I pretty much consider Seed a takeaway restaurant. Sandwiches and prepared items are on point, and the menu rotates with new unique items being added regularly … not to mention the bakery items - there can be no better. Service is considerate, patient, and the team is always ‘good people’. It may not be as inexpensive as some other bakeries or donut places, etc. but it’s certainly a good vibe of a place to behold and I highly recommend that you experience the love they put into their food and the process.

There is stiff competition for bakery/cafe type places in the area, and Seed is among the best. One of the few places where the price is worth it. Everything on their menu is delightful, ingredients are top-notch quality, the flavors are incredible. Come here and try anything! Be advised that it is an “order at the front” no seating kind of place, but you can walk a little less than half a mile to a park and eat, or take it to-go.
