Came here earlier then my friend. And the waiter was super polite and friendly. He was chill about me waiting for my friend since they weren't busy. The food was amazing. Delicious and quick to come out. The layout of the food was beautiful and impressive. Will come back.

I am really bummed I have to write this review. I should have looked at the reviews/stars before I selected the Pasadena location for my Postmates order from Sushi Stop. Let me start by saying I honestly love Sushi Stop and have been going to the one on Franklin for years, and have also been to the Burbank location. I selected Pasadena as it was the first one that came up, and I didn't think anything of it. My overall experience with Sushi Stop is good sushi for a good price. The tuna sampler (see pic) was GRAY. You can see in the photo that tuna is not the right color or texture, I was shocked they even thought that was acceptable. I had one bite and thought I was going to be ill. The same goes for the ceviche hand roll, you can see the fish just looks gross, for lack of a better word. There was also a hair in the California roll, which on top of tasting questionable also looked poorly made. Unfortunately, not only will I not be going to Sushi Stop, I also probably won't be eating sushi for a while. I understand Sushi Stop is not top end sushi (nor do I think they claim to be, which is totally fine!) but SOME standard and quality control would be really appreciated. Save your wallet and your stomach from this and get sushi elsewhere.

Was car shopping with a gal pal and stopped in here Saturday for a bite. For a quick pit stop this was perfect. Great folks and good customer service. Food was good. This is not fine dining but I wasn’t in the mood for that. This was simple and did the job. I would come back if in the neighborhood again.

Walked into this place for a quick bite looking for some sushi. We ordered some rolls and a salmon nigiri. The rolls were mediocre at best. The rice was gummy and stuck together and the fish didn't taste that fresh. The nigiri was pretty good. The fish tasted good and the rice wasn't as stuck together. I would equate it to sushi that you would find at a high end grocery store like Whole Foods. The service was great and they even threw in a 10% discount and roll cake for free as a promotion for following their instagram. SushiStop is a fine place to eat if you just want a cheap quick bite of sushi but if you are looking for anything more I would take your money elsewhere.

I made a large order through Uber eats but immediately cancelled the order. I called Uber eats to see if the transaction went through and they informed me that the restaurant had already accepted the order so that the amount could not be refunded. I called the restaurant to see if they had already started making the order and they said that they were so I said I would just pick it up since I was charged. When picking up, the workers said that the order wasn't made because it was cancelled. I told them that when I called the woman informed me that the order was already being made so I was going to pick up. Then began the sense dulling cycle of broken record recordings. "Can I get a refund?" "No, you have to call Uber eats" "I did and they said they can't refund since the restaurant already accepted the order and that I would have to call them" "But the order was cancelled so we didn't make the order" " I understand. That's why I called and you guys said you were making the food so I said I would come pick up" "The order was cancelled" You get the idea. I talked to Ethan, the manager, who had never once acknowledged the mistake his staff made, not calling to inform me that in fact the order was not being made and therefore I don't have to wait an hour to come pick up from a busy street, he never offered an apology, didn't offer any refund or comps. He offered to start making the order but that it would take a while. He really made that option sound so attractive by the way. All in all the staff was extremely unhelpful and still seemingly confused about what was happening. The manager did not execute the most basic communication interactions of "hey I'm sorry about that mix up." So here I am eating del taco having to dispute the charge with my cc company. Ethan - I hope that in the future you can at least acknowledge the mistakes you and/or your staff have made, offer and apology and have simple resolutions to the situation rather than repeating what was already said. I kept asking what could be done here? And your response was repeatedly "the order was cancelled" which is not helpful especially given what I had previously said. Perhaps offer a comp for the future or offer to make the order asap. I would've understood that mistakes are made.

The food is decent especially for the price but 60% of my takeout/delivery orders are ALWAYS wrong. Once we found hair in our food, other times the rolls are packaged terribly, other times I get no ginger/wasabi, today I was missing half of my order. I'm over it

I was very happy with the food. The service was nice and quick. Sushi (I had avocado Maki, seaweed salad and miso soup) was fresh and as I expected them to be.

Stopped here for lunch after a business meeting. It's a small location with a sushi bar and a few tables. The service was great. After looking at the menu and seeing how reasonable the pricing was we weren't expecting great quality fish. BUT to our surprise everything we ordered was fantastic. It definitely wasn't the best sushi we've had but it was certainly enjoyable. If you want good sushi for a reasonable price this is the place to go. Your wallet will thank you too!

I've gone to SushiStop throughout the past few years, and I feel that the quality has definitely declined unfortunately, yet the prices have gone up. Today was the first time I've gone back in awhile, and I was pleasant surprised by the service. The past few times I've been there, the service was not great, but our server today was attentive and kind and vibrant. The ambiance has always felt intimate despite the noise level, and I love being able to see the chef make their rolls. We got the crunchy rice, salmon sushi, dynamite bay scallop roll, & spicy salmon roll. My personal favorite has always been the dynamite bay scallop roll and it's still delicious! Overall, this place is still a good spot for an occasional sushi exploration, especially when AYCE is too much or pricey.

I'm not going to go into too much detail to make it easier. The sushi is great and affordable, but our server today was dam near rude to us. An older gentleman was our server and just treated us like we were a chore or a sore he had to deal with. He did it with everyone he was attending, I get there are bad days, and maybe they were understaffed, but you can not treat customers like that.I still would recommend giving this place a try because I know this isn't a regular thing. I'm guessing just a bad day for the guy.
