Great area to take a stroll after your meal. Plenty of city patio seating a few feet away from the restaurant. Pull the door really hard as the AC is creating a vacuum making it hard to open the door and making it appear as the restaurant is closed.
Carne asada with their creamy guacamole reminds me of the carne asadas I had at my friend’s husbands family hometown at a ranch in Ensenada. Those were the best in Ensenada and Tijuana and when I tasted the carne asada at 1986 Pasadena it was close to the ones I had on that ranch in Mexico. The guacamole is creamy without that chunky tomatoes or onions. Just straight guacamole creaminess. Love the street taco size too.

I came here based on my experiences from their other locations, which were superb! This location however, had the flavorless adobada that was cooked too long and the tortillas although handmade fresh to order, were unfortunately severely undercooked; i also got some quesadillas that barely had any cheese. It was disappointing given that i went in after peak hours so it was literally just me in the restaurant and they had all the time in the world to prepare everything correctly, which i believe they think they did. I will only be frequenting their WeHo and DTLA spots from now on. If this had been my first tacos 1986 experience, i would’ve never returned or gone to their other locations. So sad they’re not taking advantage of such a prime spot.

Best salsas into the belly go. Burritos are filling. I cream is convenient. All drinks are chilling. 🤔

We got tacos and a mulita and the meat was good. The salsa stood out especially, salsa morito and salsa macha being super good and flavorful. The mulita was expensive and you don't get a lot of meat. The tortillas were also quite dry and cold.

The adobada were solid. I’d skip over the asada though. Salsa’s were a bit bland and could have used more spice
About 13 dollars for a breakfast asada burrito, not a bad price. It is a bad price, however when it’s a super skimpy burrito the price is terrible. The taste was pretty good and the salsa was too, just not worth the price. I included their picture vs what I received. They wrapped the burrito twice in paper and foil.

On vacation with my family and we flew in from Chicago. I seen this on Google looked it up and seen the reviews and was interested in trying this place out! I'm glad I did. Delicious Quesdillas of Carne Asada combo hit the spot. Especially the ice cold Coca-Cola hmmmm... bomb.com I recommend this !!! Great music, friendly staff!!! And oooffff the Mulitas try it!!!!
