The Kitchen for Exploring Foods catered our wedding, and gave us a 4-star experience from start to finish! We worked with their sales manager, Amy, at the start, and she helped us understand the menu possibilities as well as rentals required for our backyard wedding. Amy was very easy to work with throughout the process.Trey was our ever manager. He was clearly very competent, having managed hundreds of events, and was very willing to be flexible with the menu items. He even designed a cheese & crudité table centerpiece when we fell in love with one that we saw on Instagram. The food was absolutely amazing, and the presentation on the farm tables exceeded our expectations! We'd also like to offer special thanks to Patricia, who took care of us and our parents. She really made us feel like royalty, and ensured that we were never left hungry during the hustle and bustle of the reception.
I can’t believe that a professional business treats their customers like this! I had event scheduled with them on a Saturday and called them the Monday prior to finalize the menu. After calling 2 times and leaving voicemails, a woman finally called me back that evening to gather more information. She said that she would pass my information on to the sales team and they would get back to me right away. On Tuesday morning I called them at 11:30, 2:00pm & 4:30pm before I realized they weren’t going to return my call. I then found a contact name and email address for a woman by the name of Carly D. I went ahead and sent her an email and received a message back right away saying that the person I am trying to reach is not accepting emails at this this time. It is now Wednesday night and they never did return my call. I had to scramble to try to find another caterer for our event. Horrible customer service! I told our event coordinator and she is removing them off of the preferred vendor list. They never returned her emails and calls either! The worst customer service!
The freshest, most delicious food around!
Ordered for a holiday gathering on the last day to order. The ordering was easy as long as you have listed your order per their menu. The pick-up was easy, had help loading the pre-packaged food and packaging was well organized. Food was prepared per the instructions given, easy thing to do, and all of them were good. My guests end up thinking we made the food and said the food were delicious.

No concern for public safety. Van driver talking on cell phone while driving. Irresponsible.

My wife and I have decided to move on after years of getting take out at the Kitchen. The problems are twofold. First of all the prices have gone up by about a third in the last year. The reason we are being told is the Pasadena minimum wage increases. Catering places like this are labor intensive so prices are more negatively affected by a high minimum wage. However, we don't have to accept that since frankly the value is not there anymore compared to other options. Also, the selection of food has gone down hill in number of acceptable choices compared to the past. It has been a long slide over the years but has gotten to the point were it is slim pickings. Quality is still good generally but we can do better elsewhere at lower prices. Also, this has to be hurting the catering side.
I needed tacos for a surprise party for my boyfriend and this place delivers. The tacos were delicious and ready earlier than we had anticipated for all of my hungry guests. They were timely, professional, and the food was delicious.

The Kitchen is a wonderful place to go if you would like to have your event catered by excellent chefs. They are extremely professional and everyone is pleasant to work with. They also serve food for lunch. It is a nice place to while away some time while eating a sandwich and enjoying a cookie.
Gourmet To Go rocks. And for large catering events this is the place to handle all your culinary desires. With over 30 years experience providing special events you will be the talk of the town basking in the afterglow of a successful and memorable event thanks to The Kitchen.
