I haven't written any reviews in a very long time but I feel that I needed to this time. **My review is based on the customer service not the food** My husband and I came here on Christmas for dinner. We were from LA and we made a reservation 2 weeks prior. Before we went to the restaurant, we called them and asked if we could bring our dog, they said yes and they could seat us on the patio. The restaurant has 2 outdoor seating areas, one is right in front and on the street. When we arrived, the seated out on the street (the area is set up but far from the restaurant.). That server (I didn't get her name but she was a bit older) said we have to seat you over there on the street because the front patio is too close to the restaurant, the customers who are inside will not be happy when we open or close the door. It's ok to be concerned and care about other customers, I get that. But she made me feel like we're not important like other customers and we are not welcome (my husband was waiting outside so he didn't hear the conversation or he would have left right away). The way she said was rude and made us feel so little. I run a small business myself and I would feel ashamed to treat someone the way she did to me. 10 minutes later, the patio area was flooded ((there was heavy rain that night) so we decided to take the food back to our hotel. Because of the way she treated us, we will never go back. By the way, I'd give 5 stars to our server, Stella. She's very nice, professional and polite.
This place is awesome! Not only was my food so delicious but sitting at the bar watching the cooks craft and make your food full great flavors it was very cool! Chico the owner is a great host to all his customers. We met nice people next to us it was fun. We came from Riverside for a weekend get away. You won't go wrong here food is delicious
Catch is a pretty good seafood & pasta place. I ordered the clam linguine and the clams were cooked well. The mixed seafood pasta had shrimp which was overcooked, but otherwise, it was tasty. The mushroom side was very good, especially if you ate it with the complimentary bread! The oysters were also delicious, and the crab cakes were averagely good. The cheesecake and creme brulee were both very delicious! The cheesecake wasn't oo heavy or sweet, which is what I like.
Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!! And absolutely recommend!!! My wife and I were driving back to Pebble Beach from Vegas and stopped in Paso Robles to get a bite to eat. We chose Catch based on their excellent reviews... And WOW were the reviews correct! The Sea bass, Salmon, Halibut, Scampi and Scallops were prepared and presented with absolute perfection! We will return for sure and are even considering making the 2 hours drive just to get another taste of this menu. Best seafood we have had in decades! Can I give more than 5 stars!?!?!?
Random choice while staying in Paso Robles for one night turned out to be an incredible meal. Great choices on fish menu (I had halibut Florentine, wife had Chilean Sea Bass in scampi sauce). Other choices all looked great! Meat options for non-pescatarians! Server recommended a great local Sauv Blanc. Dessert was one of the best creme brûlée's ever. They pack you in tight, although plenty of room at tables. We'll be back!
Paso Robles, Ca. Is a beautiful town, best known for its wineries and beautiful oak trees on rolling hills. But once you step into downtown you will get an absolutely show of the best dining and bars to select. Today I chose the Catch seafood and bar. It’s an awesome restaurant with the chef and owner doing the hosting. Excellent service, food is fantastic, Delicious!!! I got the cioppino, my god it’s delicious. I highly recommend, you will not regret it! Fresh seafood! + a full bar ?
Two and a half years ago I sold my Paso Robles home and moved to the coast. I also owned a high end AirBNB. The Catch was always my "go to" place. I referred all my guests to this outstanding restaurant knowing they would not be disappointed.Fast forward to last Sunday. I returned to the area to visit friends and to enjoy a meal at my favorite place. A lot can happen in a couple years.. but not here. The food was beyond exceptional..... the service was, as always, attentive and knowledgeable. One of my guests was not a seafood lover and ordered a steak. It came out cooked to perfection. If you don't want a certain sauce.. no problem.. Chico, the owner/chef will gladly accommodate your request. If you want beautifully prepared food in a friendly environment you will not be disappointed in this fine eatery.
Love this place! Great food and selection! Service is always great to. Can't go wrong with the calamari steak dinner!
My husband and I were visiting Paso Robles while on vacation and we had dinner at Catch. I'm from the Midwest, so fresh seafood is a must whenever I am anywhere near a coast and I read the reviews which were stellar. The food was amazing; everything was so fresh and delicious. One of the reasons we chose Catch over other seafood restaurants in the area was because they have Blue Point oysters, which are fabulous and reasonably priced. I especially loved the horseradish on the side. Our server was excellent (I can't remember her name). Per the reviews, we sat at the bar which I highly recommend. If you sit at the bar, you can watch their talented chefs in action. The chefs were so friendly yet focused on their work. The prices were reasonable, too. Lovely dinner and dining experience, thank you, Catch!
A local winery guide shared this place as a favorite for date night... and to sit at the counter so you can watch the chefs at work. Good call!We totally loved our selections...a couple specials from the chalkboard. We had the snapper veracruz and the seabass. Perfectly cooked, tender and well balanced with sauce.Note that the portions are generous and you will... yes you will... eat every bite!!
Best seafood I have had in my life!!! I have traveled the world the owner/chef is amazing and treats you like family. Sit at the bar and watch it all happen and interact. Tuna and lobster are phenomenal
This place is absolutely amazing! The food is outstanding and I would highly recommend coming here if you like seafood. We sat at the bar which I highly recommend if it's your first time. It's a very different experience to be up close and see how everything is made and having the owner interact with everyone makes the experience so much better. For appetizers we had the calamari and half shell oysters , soooo good!!!
Best meal I have had in 2021. Chico, the owner, made us feel like we were old friends. Staff was attentive and friendly. Best Calamari I have had in my life. Cioppino was absolutely phenomenal. Sautéed mushrooms were also ridiculously good. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Best fish ever. Sat at the bar; my husband had the Cioppino and I had the scallops and shrimp scampi ! The veggies were pan roasted. So delicious! Don't miss this place. Oh yeah, sit at the bar and see the chefs cook! What a show!
One of our favorite places to eat in Paso Robles. Everything runs like clockwork, good service, and good food. We ordered a Shrimp cocktail, Escargot, Fresh oysters, a Mini Filet Mignon, Fettuccine and catch of the day, and everything was perfect. We cannot say enough about this place, if you are in town you have to try them out. But so as not to be disappointed call and make a reservation especially at the weekend. TIP: If you can, requested seats at the bar so that you can watch the chef and staff do their thing, it’s quite a show.
