Derby Wine Estates in Paso Robles offers a variety of interesting and refreshing varietal wines and blends in a unique and historic building. The family's grape growing experience since 1998 has provided the knowledge to create high-quality wines, including a lovely pink sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful winery and even live music on Friday evenings. The wines are exceptional and reasonably priced, catering to all palates. The friendly and personable staff provide a welcoming and unpretentious atmosphere. Customers can share tastings with new friends and enjoy crisp and refreshing Pinot Gris or dark, delicious, and drinkable Cab Sauvignon from 2018. The winery is a favorite in the heart of Paso Robles, offering a relaxed atmosphere with Friday concerts. Customers can buy a bottle or wine by the glass and get a table under the shade to enjoy the music all night. The staff are always friendly and fun to chat with, and the clean and roomy bathroom is a plus. The winery is easy to find, with a tall pink tower that used to be a grain silo.

The online wine tasting reservation with Ron was wonderful. The wine tasting began with whites (2021 Chardonnay, 2021 Viognier, 2023 Pinot Gris), progressing to reds (2021 Cabernet Franc, 2016 Mourvèdre, 2017 Project España Red, 2018 Derbyshire Syrah, 2020 Implico, 2018 Malbec, 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Laura’s Vineyard). The wine and the beautifully arranged charcuterie board, with salami meats, cheeses, olives, nuts, and crackers, made a fantastic experience. The blend of flavors and textures makes for a fun, shared experience with staff, friends, music and wine. Customers left the renovated 1922 Almond factory, library wine estate tasting room tour with favorite red wines from their tasting (2020 Implico, 2018 Malbec, and 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Laura’s Vineyard). Customers will be coming back with family and friends to reserve the elevated chocolate and wine pairing experience in the Tower Wine Tasting lounge. Nikki, the manager, hosted a wine tasting, was an amazing conversationalist, kind, and very informative. The wine was delicious. The tasting experience was great and Sean helped through, giving detailed information about each wine. Would definitely recommend for visiting either for wine tasting or purchasing your next order of wine.
