This is a small place with indoor and outdoor dining. It was eclectically decorated in an informal but friendly and interesting manner. The servers were consistently attentive, friendly, and efficient. The food was all well prepared and plated. They first served us complementary small warm fresh rolls, a glass of bubbly, and salmon tartara. The prices were in line with other nice sit down restaurants in Paso, but the food was a level above most. Our scallop appetizers were delicious. They came in scallop shells and on a bed of cooked spinach, with a very tasty sauce. My wife and I shared a Santorini salad with grilled cheese, small fish, kalamata olives, and other items with crisp local lettuce. I had the paella with a variety of fish and shellfish, served in a small paella pan with saffron rice and some lightly cooked local veggies. I tried some of my wife's char which was perfectly cooked and served in a citrus sauce. We had a nice bottle of local pinot noir, which the server recommended. It went well with our meals and was flavorful. For dessert, my wife and I shared a tasty apple tort with ice cream. I don't understand some of the negative reviews (by competitors, or fussbudgets?) - our food was not too salty, the staff were all nice, the food was great, and we were all full at the end of the meal, though I didn't finish my paella. Even my 240 pound weightlifting son-in-law was full. They comped us several items and didn't charge us for splitting servings of several items. I totally recommend this restaurant. The only thing I would recommend adding is a vegetarian and a vegan main course.

Paso Terrible. Went back a 2 nd time to give it a 2nd chance and it was as terrible as the first visit back in Dec. Nice staff but horrible quality of food and presentation.

Paso Terra has become my family's birthday celebration spot. The welcome drink is a nice touch and the food quality cannot be beat. The place looks unassuming compared to some of the restaurants in the area but it is truly something special. Order anything that has a citrus sauce on it, whatever they make is incredible!

We dined here on our last night in Paso Robles. After a long day of wine tasting and several days of over-eating, Paso Terra’s French-style seafood selection was a welcome treat! Several different types of fish, prepared in several different ways, along with a good selection of premium meats, there is sure to be something for everyone! I really loved my sand dabs meunière and my husband said his curried monkfish was something special! The atmosphere is bright and cheery with an option for enclosed patio dining. Prices are reasonable especially for the high quality of food received! As expected in the wine region, there is an excellent selection of wines to pair with your meal. We will definitely re visit on our next trip to Paso Robles!

What a delightful supper experience. My daughter surprised me with a dinner last Thurs PM that was just as great, fresh and consistent as we remember over all these years. Our "go to" for birthday & special occasions has just be elevated to "why not" we work too hard not to enjoy this dining experience more!

We love to go to the square in downtown Robles with all its restaurants and boutiques and when we do we like to eat at Paso Terra. It's a small intimate restaurant with French cuisine. They have a nice wine list both with higher end local wines and some nice selection from France and Italy We'll start with the good, the service was very good as per usual and we loved both our mains, my wife had the short ribs and I had the sole in the creamy champagne sauce with truffle mushrooms', both excellent choices . The deserts were very nice as well. We do have to mention the ugly as well. One of the reasons we go here is for the escargots, our favorite appetizer. Yesterday 's version was nowhere near what we had here before, it was low on garlic, appeared to be unsalted butter so rather bland but worst of all it was absolutely drenched in parsley which made it overpowering everything else and not in a good way. Everything got an A + but the escargots were unfortunately a big fat F

We had a wonderful dinner at Paso Terra. The place is small, with only about 10 tables indoors-very intimate. When we sat down we were given a lovely glass of champagne and a tasty palate teaser. The seafood dishes we ordered were fantastic! The wines by the glass were great and were selected with the help of our warm and friendly server. We will be going back to Paso Terra any time we are in Paso Robles.

I felt a little rushed on an evening with more open seats than filled seats, but servers were attentive. Food was just so-so. Too much turmeric in the paella. It overwhelmed the flavor of the other ingredients. I won't go back.

We went to this restaurant with very high expectations. It had been recommended by a local Somalier who’s other recommendations had been spot on (Il Cortile, In Bloom, Gaucho Fish, and La Finca - all were great). Unfortunately, this place fell far short. We ordered the stuffed Calamari which was so tough we needed a steak knife to cut it rendering it basically inedible. The chorizo rice stuffing was alright and the tomato sauce was good with a nice amount of spicy. I found it odd that the waitress brought the steak knife without bothering to ask if everything was alright. Especially after sending back the plate with most of the calamari still in tact. We also had the halibut tirado which had a horrible texture. It was extremely tough and covered in some kind of creamy sauce. I would have sent it back but my husband was starving and ate most of it. Honestly, we should have just canceled our main course and called it a day but we had an open bottle of wine and high hopes that things would turn around. On the up side, the wine menu is good and fairly priced. We we had both ordered black cod for our main courses. Black cod is one of my absolute favorite fish so I was excited to see it on the menu however what they served us was not like any black cod I’d seen before. It should have a white, firm flesh and melt in your mouth because of the high fat content. These fillets were a greyish pink and the texture was all off, so I have my doubts that it was authentic. Also, frankly the price (35$) was very low for a serving of black cod. We sent both our plates back with food still on them even though the portions are small and still no one bothered to ask (at any point) if we had enjoyed our meal. This was truly one of the worst dinners we’ve had in years. There are plenty of good restaurants in Paso Robles. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Four of us had dinner and we found the food to be OK, although not rave-worthy. Unfortunately, the service affected our overall experience. When I asked about the portion size of the paella, I was abruptly informed that it's "for ONE." Oh, ok, I guess I'm not allowed to share it. The worst part was the gazpacho, which sounded good after a hot day in Paso. It was so incredibly spicy-hot, it was totally inedible. (Cayenne instead of paprika??) I mentioned it to both of the servers and their reaction was apathy, total indifference. I have had paella and gazpacho many times, all over the world, including Spain. Never had gazpacho that was so inedible.

The best dinner we had In Paso Robles!! Salmon poke was amazing. My wife had the fish special black cod and I had the barramundi. Both were excellent and a great Bordeaux to complete the meal

It's a little "Mom & Pop" place with excellent food. We were greeted with an Amuse Bouche of Salmon Tartare & sparkling wine from France. The place runs like a well oiled machine and everything came out as expected and everything was delicious. We would definitely recommend this one!

Some of the best I have had. I had seafood trio. Branzino, scallops & shrimp. Excellent, cooked to perfection. Very tasty mix of spice and flavor. Couldn't have gotten better!

Service felt rushed. Got a different wine from what was on the menu. The food was so salty. Sharing a dinner we ate only half. Owners did nothing.

Lovely welcome with complimentary seafood amuse-bouche and 1/2 glass sparkling wine. Delicious appetizer of three - crayfish, scallop, and crab cakes. Wonderful lobster bisque and branzino, good paella. Good service.
