A great place to pick up some excellent wines..
We dropped by on our way down to the coast before we flew back to the UK
We arrived during a training meeting so were asked to wait around the side of the building
There we bumped in to Joe Barton who was enjoying a coffee and was good enough to give us his time and travel advice, which was great by the way.
We happily purchased 4 bottles - one of each, white, red, rose and sparkling…
We can’t yet comment on the wines as we are taking them back to the UK for a wine tasting evening…
But that aside, the place was great, Joe was great and would highly recommend
This was nice treat for lunch in the back part of the wine tasting area. Please note, on weekdays, this back part may not be open. This happened to my family and me a few weeks ago and also the help didn't show up. Only 1 person was there and he was struggling to seat and serve anyone. I would have given a 5 star but having to go there and get skunked for our lunch visit was a little upsetting. We had to drive somewhere else as I had visitors with me. Wine is good there. Not sure what happened that day but I recommend calling ahead instead of making the drive and having to go somewhere else. If everything is working, it should be a good experience but check first.
Our large party of about 30 had an amazing time here. Caitlin made the reservation process easy. Everyone raved about the lunch and drinks. The kids enjoyed the patio games, too. Mark in the distillery area was so kind and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful day celebrating and will definitely return another time. Thank you!
We came on a tour and waited 30 minutes for service. We were told the bartender was doing a private tour with no one to back them up.
A Great Family Lunch After A Wine Tasting Morning. Beautiful Patio Atmosphere. Friendly Service. Amazing Food.
After a Friday patio tasting at Lone Madrone where they weren't serving food, we ended up driving down the road a bit to Grey Wolf and Barton Family Wines where we had an absolutely delicious lunch with craft cocktails - lit spritz and yummy seared salmon for me! The seared salmon with fire roasted tomato, lentils, barley, roasted squash, wilted spinach and topped with lemon vinaigrette & pepitas was incredible. We were ravenous and so enjoyed our first meal of a weekend Paso trip as we took in views of beautiful rolling hills covered in vineyards. Service, food and ambiance were A+. I'd definitely return to taste their wines...and to have another amazing meal here!
Sully, the greeter, was less than welcoming to our group. Upon entering and seeing our family members he reprimanded our group of seniors to keep it down. Really!!! We are in a winery enjoying our get together and told to be quiet!! There was one other table!!! We were happy to say hello and of course we're respectful of others. So unnecessary. Sully better go back to hospitality 101!
I love wine here and the food taste amazing.
Wonderful experience! Great wine, terrific lunch options. We tried the Mushroom Bruschetta (the best!) and the pesto pasta. Very well recommended!
Don’t miss out the charming restrooms :)
BlendFest Paso Robles yielded another wine brand worthy of inclusion in our Top 30 wine estate list. A small winery specializing in high-quality, small-batch wines, bourbon whiskey and culinary delights. You can’t miss this winery if you’re driving on California’s Central Coast Highway 46 between Highway 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway. Tasting their wines at the 2025 BlendFest, I was compelled to sample two of their library red wines, whose taste and quality amazed me. At the wine festival, Caitlin, their wine manager, had me sample a wine called “The Dance,” a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Malbec. Yes, the name is based on the Garth Brooks legendary country western song. It was a great addition to our wine list of highly rated wines. However, the best wine I sampled at the vineyard was a bottle called “Moondance,” a blend of 43% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 21% Mourvèdre, and 13% Graciano. I loved these wines paired with the Cranberry Apple Hazelnut Salad with chicken, Margherita Flatbread, and Creamy Pesto Pasta with fresh chicken; it was incredible! I capped off the experience of live music, wine tasting, and food pairings by buying a bottle of Moondance for aging in our home wine cellar for a few more years. This year, family and friends will join me at this vineyard to recapture the positive energy I felt. You won’t regret spending money on this wine estate’s red wine blends, whiskey, food, and live music. Tiffany, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable about wine, vineyard history, and food pairings. Have some dollars ready to tip the live band.

Service was so friendly and lovely. The food was delicious! We had the sausage and the grilled cheese. I especially enjoyed the Fancy wine 🍷 highly recommend

Best wine in Paso Robles
Walk in party of 6 for a birthday celebration ?. Mark was our hostess. He gave us a quick tour of the distillery area. Mark was very informative of their liqours and drinks. We ordered a Basil Gimlet made with vodka and then the Blood Orange cocktail. Both were perfe t for this hot summer day. We sat outside, and even though it was warm, it was a beautiful time. If you have time, stop by and ask for Mark. ?
My husband and I are local. On June 9, 2024, we had family and friends in town to celebrate our son's graduation, and we decided to go to Grey Wolf for lunch - we have been there several times and love it. In fact, a few years ago, we made a reservation for 25 people for lunch over the holidays and it was great - they put us in the barrel room bc the weather wasn't good outside. That was great. So Grey Wolf came to mind this time around to go have lunch and some wine. I called ahead that day and they said they could accommodate our group of 20-ish people. When we got there, we sat at 2 different tables - and there were several empty tables - it was not very busy at that time. The waiter (I wish I had gotten his name but I was so annoyed with his manner that I didn't) said absolutely only one check for the entire group. We asked to at least separate the checks between the two tables - my cousin joked "we don't know them," but there was zero humor in this server, and he said absolutely NO - "it is our policy that all groups will be put on one check." We asked ok, put it all on one check but then we will use a few cards to pay - again he said NO - one check and one payment method, period. Well, no one in our group was prepared to take on the entire bill, so we got up and left. I spoke with the manager just informing her of the situation - the server came over and stood by listening to what I said to the manager - the manager said "sorry and I understand you're already leaving so there isn't anything I can do." Really bizarre comment and service. But ok, so we went to another winery, ordered lots of wine, and had a beautiful lunch. I will not be going back or recommending Grey Wolf to anyone again. A shame because it has been a go-to in years past. But this experience just soured me. Terrible service/treatment.
