Hawks Hill Ranch Winery

This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience at a winery that is at the top of the game. Ryan, our guide and general manager, took us on an ATV tour of the vineyard that was educational and elegant without being pretentious. Tasting the wines amongst the vines it was harvested from was magical, to say nothing of our time in the manzanita grove. Our tour was complete with Sadie the dog tagging along for the ride!

We’ve been wine tasting in Napa and France, and this experience stood out for the warmth, hospitality, and passion evident in every moment — to say nothing of the quality of the wine. Thanks to Kit, Ryan, and the team for an excellent afternoon. I couldn’t recommend this winery enough!

We visited Hawk's Hill Ranch Winery this past week while visiting Paso Robles for the first time. This was a last minute trip and so when we found that many of the wineries had 'appt only' tasting rooms we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't just walk in on many of them. We decided to take the 'wine drive' for the views and while we were just about done with the drive there was a sandwich board sign on the road that said 'tasting room appts were available' and so we stopped.
What a nice surprise - Matt came out to greet us and invited us in to the a/c cooled tasting room. We spent almost 2 hours with him and had his full attention - he was wonderful! Great conversation and great wine made our trip that day. We ended up with 3 bottles of their wine and could not have been happier!

Small production (1000 cases) Grown with Mother Earth in mind aiming for quality over quantity. 200 head of working sheep, 5 dogs, 2 full time onsite vineyard professionals and one owner that never stops working.

Hawks hill grows Cab, Syrah, Grenache, Zin and Mourvèdre. They source Chardonnay from the closest vineyard to the Pacific Ocean, Derbyshire. Their grapes are made into wine by Don Burns and Anthony Yount, two rockstars of the Paso wine scene. They offer tastings next to the vines as well as a comprehensive tour of the vineyard on an ATV complete with 5 different wines and lunch. Reservations are recommended but not required.

We were welcomed with a really crisp, delicious and refreshing rose. Really knowledgeable staff who were willing to share their knowledge in an accessible way!

We had tasting of four wines from their wine selection plus a bonus pour.
Wines were non descriptive, best part was the cheese box we were given to pair with each wine. Maybe if we weren’t given a seat in the blaring sun the tasting would have been better ?

Cannot say enough wonderful things about this winery. The tour of their property shows the pride they have plus you learn how Kit and group focus on sustainability and working with Mother Nature to bring us the best wine possible. The wine room feels like on top of the world overlooking Paso from its hill location. We enjoyed their vino so much, we shipped home a case. We look forward to making our way to Paso to experience one of their hilltop events.

My parents just came back from their trip and they couldn't stop raving on how great their tour was and how professional and fantastic Ricky was with the tour. They can't recommend this tour enough and wish Ricky the best of luck expanding his business.Highly recommended tour.

Must go while in Paso! I just did the Estate Ranch Tour at Hawks Hill and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in Paso Robles. The ranch is so beautiful and they take great pride in being a regenerative family owned farm. Admirable how much care they put into everything they do there. Ricky is absolutely the BEST and the family is lucky to have him working for them. I will be back for sure!

Amazing estate tour experience! Ricky was the absolute best. He's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. If you're looking for something different than your basic tasting, must do the estate tour. They also have new experiences coming in the future that we'll definitely be back for!

My wife and I had the pleasure of doing the vineyard tour and tasting at Hawks Hill Ranch over the weekend and it exceeded all of our expectations.We've been fortunate to travel to taste wine all over the world (from Stellenbosch to Bordeaux and many places in between), including lots of time in Paso Robles, and Hawks Hill Ranch stands with the very best in the world in terms of the quality of fruit, wine, and the experience.We've already recommended this to friends and family and we'll absolutely be back again.

We had a great tour of the ranch with Ryan. Amazing wines. We liked it so much we joined. P.S. we really enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek finance terms used in the wine names (fun nod to the founder’s roots). Looking forward to our first pickup party!
