I have never had anything bad at this place. Its worth every penny. Both special and casual.
We returned to Il Cortile on the 26th while visiting Paso for Thanksgiving, and once again it was outstanding. All four of us were delighted with our dishes. I tried their new spaghetti with bottarga—where the bottarga is served on the side for you to add as you wish—and it was phenomenal. Truly the best spaghetti I've ever had. The previous version was already delicious, but this one is on an entirely different level. Everything we ordered—from the grilled octopus to the Bolognese—was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We were even tempted to go back again before leaving town. Il Cortile delivered yet another memorable meal, and that dish is something I won't forget.
We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time. Our table was in a heated patio—high noise level, not as charming as the inside. Our server was not on top of it. He did not ask us if we wanted a cocktail (or something to drink) before dinner. I had to order my drink with our dinner order. My Manhattan arrived with my salad—not ideal, for sure. The food was excellent, however. It was my birthday, which was noted on my reservation. But there was on acknowledgment—not even a free coffee. Oh well.
Excellent service! Amazing food! My new favorite central coast restaurant. We started with their scallops appetizer which was delicious (Cooked perfectly) and Caprese salad. We ordered a steak and a beef lasagna as entrees which were both exceptional. This is a small restaurant and reservations book up fast. It reminds me of the best NYC neighborhood restaurants. A bit loud but with a special, warm atmosphere due the staff service.
Wonderful dinner in downtown Paso. We sat at the bar and enjoyed getting to know Crystal at the bar and a couple of locals. Owner was on site and enjoyed watching her style and interaction with staff. Osso Bucco was one for the books with the best ever risotto. Thank you for a memorable dinner.
This was one of the best Italian meals we have had in years. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. On top of all that they were gracious enough to seat us even though we came in about 15 minutes before they were to close. Just a really classy place that we highly recommend.
Superb dining experience! Had: Insalata Mista; Sea Bass & Mixed Vegetables special; Lobster w/ Squid Ink Pasta; Warm Chocolate Cake; and, Mixed Berry Tart. We brought a bottle of wine, but this was not ideal as they have an excellent selection of wines at all price points (their selection of Italian reds looks very appealing). Definitely coming back when we are vacationing again in Paso Robles.
Excellent food, our server did a tremendous job suggesting dishes. We would definitely dine there again.
Amazing service! Amazing food! Great wine list! We had artichoke soup for the first time - creamy and delicious! Then the stuffed quail and spaghetti with clams, shrimp and bottarga for me - so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Seared scallops and the pork ossobuco for my husband - he said it was sooooo good!! Everything was so tasty and well cooked. Kudos to the chef!! Emily, the hostess, was so gracious, accommodating and helpful. We sat at the bar and Crystal, the bartender, was so attentive, had great recommendations, and excellent service. You have two gems with them. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning!
PS - forgot to take photos - just the empty plates!! 😂

We had a lovely dinner and evening. The food as always was wonderful, and we had amazing service from Nathalie. Thank you to all the Il Cortile team.
We visit this beloved spot every time we come to Paso from LA. The food and service never disappoint.
Took 15 mins to wait after our reservation time, we're not sure why because food and drinks came out quick otherwise. Food was good but nothing outstanding or world beating for what it is.
Kim was a delightful waitress last night. All of the food is always delicious. We had the Osso bucco and lobster special. Also the caprese salad is a must have.
My first, but not last visit, to ll Cortile restaurant. I stopped in Paso Robles on my way back home from a trip to Santa Monica.
Decided to search for an Italian restaurant with a good review and found ll Cortile.
I had a great dining experience from the receptionist who greeted me to my female server/bar tender, as being alone, I sat at the 4-stool bar area.
My server/bar tender was friendly, courteous and helpful with helping me make a decision, on not which wine I should try, but with my dinner choice as well.
I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my dining experience and will make it a point to return for another great meal in the future.
