Decided to try Italian on our recent trip to Paso Robles and we were thrilled with our selection. Started off with the Carpaccio tartufo which is a beef tenderloin with parmesan fonduta with shave black truffles. It is to die for. The raw beef melted in your mouth and the sauce was absolutely incredible. Since we were going Italian, we had to go with the pasta. I had the Fettuccine salsicca which was homemade pasta with pork sausage, fennel, fresh tomato, herbs and white wine. There was an empty plate when I was done. The portion was just right. Not too little, not too much. The service was as good as it gets and the ambiance was exactly what you'd expect if you want a great date night.

The scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly and a wonderful sauce. Sea bass was very tasty. The service is gracious and attentive. Wish we were closer so we could come more frequently. A nice Italian wine list.

Located a block away from the park in Downtown across the street from Spearhead Coffee. It's highly recommend that you make reservations as the place is not that big and fills up on the weekends. We ordered the grilled octopus, osso buco & veal chop. I have to say that all 3 dishes was fantastic. The octopus was so tender and seasoned well. It's grilled perfectly because you get the grilled flavor from the ends of the tentacles. The sauce and veggies was fantastic. I wish they give you more meat though, but the portions is pretty on point with other establishments. The osso buco was fork tender and it came with a side of risotto. Let me tell you, the meat portion was pretty substantial. Wasn't gamey or anything and the tomato sauce breaks up the creaminess of the risotto. Although it didn't come with truffles like the full risotto dish comes with. The veal chop was cooked medium rare and did not have any gaminess either. It was super tender and seasoned perfectly. I like the crust from the flat top. It was accompanied with a porcini cream sauce that was also delicious. The service was and staff was great throughout the night. Oh, one more thing, the bread basket they give you was so good. Nothing like crusty fresh bread. Nice and chewy. But keep in mind that if you want more bread, it's going to cost you an extra $5. I did wish they gave you more than 4 small pieces to start out with. That's my only knock for this restaurant. This will be on my list when visiting Paso.

Always a treat to dine at this incredible restaurant! The food is amazing. We had the veal chop with a marvelous mushroom sauce that can match any restaurant in the country. For first we had the sweet corn agnolotti and it was sweet and flavorful and I hated for it to end. The service is attentive but not overpowering. This restaurant would be a hit in any major city in the US.

This was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back. The food was delicious and everyone working was so pleasant. Will now be a go to place while visiting Paso Robles.

Last night was my party's first time here. The menu is rather small so I was a little concerned there was something on the menu to please everybody. They had a wonderful special menu to complement the standing menu. Half our party had a meal from the daily special and half from the standard menu. Everything was fantastic. The help was awesome, the atmosphere was awesome. If you're looking for a great experience in Italian dinning this is your place.

Pasta in Paso! Absolutely an amazing experience at Il Cortile. This Italian restaurant was recommended to me by multiple people as well as some popular food sites. It is located downtown so very easy to get to. A romantic setting, friendly staff, with amazing cocktails, an extensive wine list and incredible food. They make their pastas in-house which is spectacular. I started off with their old fashioned and the soup of the day, which was an artichoke soup. The soup was quite delightful, very creamy and decadent. You can tell that all of the ingredients are extremely fresh. For an entrée I chose their sweetcorn Agnolotti; probably the best pasta I've had in a long time. It was so light and fluffy and the flavors were remarkable, everything that I hoped for in a pasta dish and more. I actually think I called it "breathtaking" lol. Sometimes food does that to me. If you're ever in the Paso Robles area I highly recommend coming to this restaurant for sure! Cheers

What an absolutely lovely place. Went for dinner and sat "outside" wasn't really outside, covered patio because it was cold and they had heaters and blankets. Food was fabulous. Best carpaccio ever... had fantastic vintage Italian wine. Ambiance was great. Our waitress was lovely. The outdoor area got pretty loud later- we were done with our entrees, and considering dessert..... some guests were too happy on drinks and the waitress asked if we would be more comfortable inside, in a more quieter setting, to perhaps take our coffee and sweets inside in case we were bothered by the noise. So thoughtful and careful. It was fun, even with the commotion and laughs:

Great ambiance, service and food. We had the grilled octopus (not shown) and the scallops starter. We had the Branzino and lamb chops. Ended with a berry tart. Our guests brought a Rosso bought back from Italy. Great meal!

So delicious! Perfect portion sizes and excellent service. We started with the carpaccio (which I cannot recommend enough, I am still drooling over it), the fettuccini, and the salmon. All perfectly prepared and such a good portion size - not too much! We ended with the panna cotta - YUM! I highly recommend this spot.

Disappointed. Outdoor dining was dismal, loud, hot and uncomfortable. Few want to pay $50-70 for an entree and feel like they were shoved in the corner. Food was uneven. Quail amazing. Beef cheeks wasn't great and something I could make. Uggh.Dietary restrictions: Would not accomodate a casein allergy.

We loved our experience here. The crostini was the star of the show. The Branzino was perfectly flaky with crispy skin on top of tender veggies and well seasoned potato puree. Osso Buco was so tender and the risotto was the perfect pairing. The black truffle risotto was amazing and very rich. The sea bass was pretty good, but not as delicious as the Branzino in my opinion. The tiramisu was soft and scrumptious. In the outside seating, the curtain wall let in a lot of air underneath (read: cold ankles). I would plan ahead to get a table inside next time.
