This is a hotel bar! Perfect location, in center of Paseo Robles! The trees and lighting make it remarkable! We tried a couple of their famous wine and loved them all! Bar/winery hopping is the best thing you can do in this city! During Christmas/new year time they are supper busy so if you want faster service, you better go to the bar and order yourself! We got couple appetizers as cheese platter and charcuterie, very tasty and fresh!

My husband and I were thrilled to hear about the reopening of the Pony Club, post-pandemic. We just went on a Friday night, to find live music as early as 5:00 p.m. The artist was Emily Smith, who has an amazing voice and appears to be a recurring act on their calendar for the near future. It was already crowded by the time we arrived at 5:15, with no outdoor seating (luckily a table opened up about 5-10 later). There is an indoor bar and a few tables inside also, but we love the ambiance of sitting outside (weather permitting), where they have wonderful lighting and many outdoor heaters. We were pleased to see they now offer craft cocktails as well as wine, beer and cider. They continue to have a limited food menu. We ordered their trio of sliders, which have the option of adding a salad or fries, at additional cost. I opted to not add a side (to save room for dessert), but my husband added fries. We both loved the sliders, which came with bacon, cheese and arugula. They had a nice spicy taste to them, but not so heavy-handed for those who cannot handle spicy foods. The sliders were pretty filling, so this dish could likely be split for two people, for those with lighter appetites and a desire to try dessert. The sticky toffee pudding was AMAZING and totally worth the calories. I hope this stays on their menu, as it is SO good!! I kept my drinks in the rum group with their Spiked Chai, followed by the Christmas Campfire. The Chai came in a coupe style glass and was very yummy, the sweeter of the two drinks for sure. I could drink this cocktail every night! The Christmas Campfire came on the rocks in a highball glass, with a toasted marshmallow on a drink skewer. It was less sweet and more strong as a cocktail, definitely more of a 'sipping' drink when compared to the Spiked Chai--still very good though. My husband had his usual Old-Fashioned , which he enjoyed also. The service was friendly and attentive. Their outside patio is dog friendly, and their schedule implies that live music may be scheduled for both Fridays and Saturdays. We will definitely be back, maybe next time with our well-behaved doggies!

NO HAPPY HOUR...not complaining, just saying! So, the drinks are not terribly overpriced. I mean $6 beer is pretty good. The best of the food is the grilled cheese, $16, and worth it because of the onions and the fig jam. Great surroundings and horse photos!

One of my favorite spots in Paso for small bites, excellent service in an outdoor venue with live music. Bonus is that they are dog friendly and have amazing frites. They have limited indoor seating and service as well for the colder nights.

We have stopped in this bar a few times-most notably last year we came by with another couple. Our friend was asking the server questions about the hotel and just joking around like he does and the server was so over it, rude and at one point just walked away. I get that customers can get obnoxious but our friend was just making conversation and not rude at all. This kind is service is uncalled for. We have been treated a little rudely previously as well-I guess because we were not guests at the hotel but merely paying customers in the bar there-how dare us!

My favorite bar in Paso Robles! Excellent menu, service, and ambiance. Dorine makes the experience outstanding.

This was our 4th night in Paso so we wanted to eat a little smaller tonight and enjoy a drink. We chose the Pony club as they only have a few small plates and a couple appetizers. We chose a fig flatbread to start. It was great. We later ordered the slider trio and deviled eggs. We made a great choice with all. My goodness did those sliders have flavor. As far as the drinks go. The tender was amazing. He did not know the drink we ordered as it is not that common but he was willing to give it a try. Through our instruction he got real close. We all have it a straw taste and agrees to a Change and he was right on it and it finished excellent. Loved this place. Small and intimate. We will be back

The service was very friendly and attentive. The pizza was delicious. We will be back when the weather is nice when we can sit outside around a fire table. Interesting tidbit is they make some of their own alcohols.

My husband and I stumbled upon the grand opening (or re-opening) of the Pony Club at Hotel Cheval today. We wondered why the Pony Club was still closed although many other bars/restaurants had opened post-pandemic. We've been waiting for this wonderful place to, once again, serve up good wine and great small plates. We were delighted to learn that it was not the pandemic that caused the delay but a complete reimagining of the facility that prevented them from reopening. To our complete delight, the Pony Club still serves Paso Robles award-winning wines but now has a full service bar that prepares excellent cocktails and very, very good and unique small plates to share. Our server, Anthony, could not have been more welcoming and pleasant and the manager, Jane, was a delight to talk to. Their enthusiasm for the new look and feel of the Pony Club is infectious (pardon the pun in these trying times!) Anyway, I want to recommend the Pony Club but I also want to keep it a well-guarded secret! The Pony Club is truly one of Paso Robles "gems". Treat yourself and go there ... soon!
