Bill Powell is the winemaker and he poured for our small party of three and we had an excellent time tasting on April, 1 2023. We tasted for two days and Bill is currently pouring library wines from 2012 & 2013. We did a flight of blends and single varietals. It was quite an experience tasting wines that old and they were excellent.Bill is super knowledgeable and passionate about wine and I learned a lot about the wine making process and the different varietals he has bottled. The wines are more natural than most and you can taste that in the wines. Medium to light bodied red wines with full flavors.I am especially fond of the blends and I picked up a few bottles to enjoy now since they were 2013s.If you’re in Tin City and PowellMountain Winery is open, consider stopping by.
Love this winery! Bill is always friendly, a pleasure to chat with. He’s so knowledgable about the wine and loves to share his knowledge. The wine is superb! We love stocking up on the wine for the holidays!
My husband and I were in a Budget rental car and noticed a flat on the car while parked on the street where winery is located (on a big incline). We pulled in to the parking lot (no cars there!) and parked on level ground which happened to be about 5 ft encroaching a handicapped slot. As we were changing the tire, a man (not gentleman) came up to us and said “you realize you are in a handicapped place. My customers may need that place.” We pointed out that we were a bit handicapped ourselves (a 73 year old changing the rental car tire) but he did not back down!! Unbelievable for someone to berate someone in that situation!I urge all senior citizens to avoid this winery!
What a treat! Bill Powell was very hospitable and his wines were fantastic!I would have to say a trip to PWC is highly recommended. Bill was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Words cannot describe the wines we tasted, there were so many great wines it would be hard to recommend just one. The only recommendation is go to Powell Mountain Winery in Paso Robles’ Tin City!
Had a wonderful tasting with Bill the winemaker of Powell Mtn. We especially enjoyed the Bordeaux blends and his Tempranillo was excellent. A perfect day! Cheers.
Tasting was fabulous. Bill, the owner, was there for the pouring and explanation of all the wines. Has a great sale going on!!!
We were at tin city and it was approaching 5pm we headed over to Powell mountain to see if we could do a tasting before they closed at 5pm. Bill welcomed us warmly and walked us through our tasting which was fantastic. I did the blends menu tasting of 5 wines while my partner built his own flight. This was by far the best winery we visited during our weekend and we would definitely return. We ended up buying a case curated by us. A must go! Tell Bill that Paul & Trish sent you!
Chilled 2013 Grenache hits the spot on a 110 degree day!
Great owner, amazing wines. Small but very enjoyable. Had a great time. Worth checking out!
Great wine, very impressed with Bill's style, he makes fantastic wines! This is a must visit taste!

I love going to Powell Mountain Cellars and seeing Kim and Bill. Their wine is amazing and Bill is incredibly knowledgeable. Kim and Bill go out of their way to make customers feel welcome. They have mostly Rhone reds and I love them all.
