Kevin Riley consistently produces some of the best wine in California. I always find myself coming back to Proulx wine when I am looking for something that will knock my socks off. The Wah and Jack Barrett are worth every penny and then some. Proulx also has wines that are great for just everyday drinking. If you like Rose, you have to try some of Kevin's Grenache Rose. All the Proulx wines I have tried drink well right away, but also hold up well over the years. The Proulx tasting room is one of me and my wife's must visit places whenever we go to California. The tasting room has beautiful views, and everyone there is always welcoming, friendly, and full of great information and stories. Kevin has some great wines for a variety of budgets, but he is also always trying something new, so a stop in the tasting room is always worth it.

We adore Proulx... from the wine (SO delectable), too the warmth of the family pouring it, to the space -- and ESPECIALLY if you happen in when Genoa is making wood fired pizzas! Proulx is a hidden gem, on the westside wine trail, where you will feel like you're stepping back in time, out of the hustle and bustle, and taking in the unparalleled Paso countryside and delicious juice, amongst the vines!!!!

After this trip every time we go to Paso we will make sure we stop in to Proulx. We got to taste with the winemaker/ owner Kevin and he makes you feel like a member of his family. There is a wide selection of amazing wines, there are budget friendly wines (yellow label) that are better than many others reserve wines. In fact we ended up buying 2 cases of the yellow label Zin. If you are looking for reserve wines try one named after his sons, our favorite is the Dimples.

Beyond amazing winery. The tasting my family and I did was met with awesome hospitality. It literally felt like we were talking to friends and not winery hosts. I also signed up for their subscription service during our tasting. My gf and I weren't drinking as much as we thought we would so we decided to cancel our membership, unfortunately. There was an accidental shipment sent which I was charged for. However, Genoa was amazing in helping me resolve it without any issues whatsoever. Absolutely phenomenal customer service.

Dawn was great and we spent a lot of time with her, thought us a lot about wine we didn’t know.We went this last weekend for my birthday weekend! Wow what amazing wine and great customer service. We had a awesome time we even got to go into the grey goose which was awesome. Bought some wine because it was that good. Can’t wait to visit again. Owners were on a cruise but we were left in good hands. Kevin rocked he was a excellent host, saw him working the tractor ? . We stayed in the willow creek rental they have and it was awesome.

Let's start out with saying that the owners Kevin & Genoa Riley are amazing hosts. I have visited 100s of tasting rooms on the Central Coast in California. From the moment I walked in the tasting room I felt the warmth like I was visiting friends.

Best Rose I've ever had.... Bought the 2017 Grenache Rose, drank it a few months later, and wished we'd bought a whole case.

Charming winery with small family feel. Very personal tasting by the winemaker's wife.

Our driver recommended this hidden gem as we wanted to taste a smaller winery's production and Proulx didn't disappoint. Upon arriving we were greeted by our host, Jack, father of the owner. Jack was attentive, knowledgeable and made us feel like we were family. The winery offers an ample selection of wines from grenache, sirah and syrah blends. Our favorite was the Jack Barrett, named after two of the couple's children. (Dimples is named after their oldest son). The Jack Barett was full of flavor without being heavy. They also offer at least two selections that are dry farmed, only irrigated by rain. The prices are reasonable, high $20s to $60. The winery is small in terms of its acreage and production ; however, the staff was beyond attentive and genuinely interested in their clients. Both Jack and Genoa, who also has a wine named after her (The Wah) was personable and genuinely nice. As a former liquor-store owner, Jack offered endless tips on chilling wine, pairings with it and varietals. He was delightful and full of "useless information" as he joked. We couldn't help but want to stay there longer than at any other winery as the staff here made our visit enjoyable. Caution when emptying in trash into the large grey can in the tasting room as it is not trash but walnuts which grow on the couple's property. Don't be surprised if they offer guests to take some -- for free -- as we did. It's details like this that make Proulx a must-visit winery.

Tasting fee is $10, but we are wine club members with big case discounts. Kevin does a wonderful job of blending and has consulted for several other wineries in the area. A family run operation worth a stop if on the West Side. Everyone's tastes are different, but this is the only winery where we loved every wine we tried.

We joined the wine club, so that says a lot right off the bat. This unassumingly charming spot serves up some of the most bodacious reds I have ever tried. Their Petit Syrah packs a flavorful sip without going over the edge of fruitiness or dryness. The bigger, bold blends are velvet smooth with flavors the took my taste buds on a twisting journey from start to finish. On top of the great wines you'll find, the ladies who were behind the counter--one of them being the owner--were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in allowing all guests to sample whichever wines they wanted, discussing the production, and generating a memorable atmosphere that I look forward to returning to soon. Cheers!

Relaxed and not ostentatious. Nice change from some of the other wineries around.
