We recently visited Ramen 805 and had high hopes based on its charming interior and initial presentation. We ordered the Pork Rib Spicy Miso Ramen and the Tonkotsu Ramen. While the portions were spot on and the presentation was visually appealing, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Food:
The Spicy Miso Ramen was overly oily, which completely overpowered the broth. This made the noodles bland, as the oil prevented the broth from sticking to them. The corn tasted canned, which didn’t help the flavor profile. On the bright side, the seaweed absorbed the broth and provided a nice touch, but the broth itself was lacking in flavor, making it hard to salvage the dish.
The Tonkotsu Ramen had better broth flavor, but the lack of toppings (due to no eggs being available) left the dish feeling incomplete. A substitute for the missing toppings would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, the excessive oil in this dish also left the noodles tasting bland.
For the prices—$23 for the Spicy Miso Ramen and $17 for the Tonkotsu—the quality simply wasn’t there.
Service:
Service was disappointing. During our 45-minute visit, our table was only checked on twice, and our drinks were never refilled. Despite being the second customers in the restaurant, it took 30 minutes to receive our food, and we watched the group that arrived after us receive and finish their meals before ours even arrived. The restaurant had only one chef and one server, which was clearly not sufficient for the level of business. Additionally, the staff needed to be more attentive to diners.
Atmosphere:
The interior is lovely—a cozy and inviting ramen house. It’s clear the owners have a great vision for this place, but unfortunately, the execution isn’t there yet.
Overall:
While Ramen 805 has potential, the experience was marred by poor service, overly oily and bland ramen, and steep prices that don’t match the quality. I give it 2/5 stars for the portions, presentation, and atmosphere, but the food and service need significant improvement

I had a Sapporo beer and the Shoyu ramen. Ramen was 99% noodle in a milky looking broth. Not appealing to look at and not much better to eat. The two thin pork slices in the broth were very fatty and there was not an easy way to eat around the fat. A tiny sprinkling of greens were included in the broth along with two small strips of bean sprout. The taste was very salty and overall disappointing.

Might be nice if anyone ever greeted me there, tried it twice, not busy, could see staff chatting in the kitchen, stood at the bar, but no one ever came out to take my order.

After a day exploring in Morro Bay fam bam wanted Ramen on way home so we stopped into here. Place was empty but it didn't deter us. Service was good. People started dining in after sunset. Food was good and fast. We'd come back if we were in the area again and craving Ramen :)
Kid-friendliness: Neutral setting not loud or obscene pictures.
Wheelchair accessibility: Table height for wheelchair seems acceptable.

Same experience as Rosa Sanchez. We arrived at 8:00pm and even called beforehand and they said we can arrive by 8:30 to be seated. As soon as we get there, we were greeted by a male server, but the female server looked extremely agitated and made a gesture to him cutting her throat telling him to not take us in. We drove an hour specially for their ramen but I’ll stick to MOMOTARO RAMEN in Paso as they are kinder, friendlier and have great ramen and service. Mind you this is a Friday night and all the other restaurants are open and lively. I’ve never tried this ramen and was looking forward to it, but I will never go back or attempt to try it because this experience left a bad feeling. Atmosphere definitely 0/5, friendliness 0/5, service: 0/5. Very unprofessional.

Very limited menu options but immaculate service, broth is not too salty which suits my ideal taste, quite generous with the toppings, worth the price.

Very unethical business practices! Steals artists designs and doesn’t compensate the true artist! The artwork you see on the wall was designed by another artist and now owner is ghosting her!! HORRIBLE!!!

Restaurantji Recommends
I arrived at 8:15 pm only to be told they had stopped seating at 8 pm, despite their advertised closing time of 9 pm. As I walked past around 8:40 pm, the restaurant was already closed. It's incredibly disappointing to make a trip specifically to try their ramen, only to find them closing early. They really need to update their hours for accuracy.

The food is really good. If you are a fan of ramen I highly recommend it. It is a newer restaurant and the staff is very friendly. Food service is quick and the portions are plenty to fill you up. My wife and I had dinner and both commented on how full we were later. I had the 805 Pork Rib Spicy Miso and she had the Miso and shared an order of gyoza. Everything had wonderful flavor and the meat on my large pork ribs fell off the bone. They have a large selection of beers and sake, too. You won’t be disappointed if you come here to eat.
Parking: The restaurant is located in the middle of a busy down town area. Parking can be challenging at times but once you get a spot everything is within walking distance.

I disagree with Dave. The broth was delicious. I will definitely come back and hopefully once per week. This is my favorite Ramen place in the central coast and the staff is amazing. Go try it. You wouldn’t be disappointed.
