World class tasting with lots of sailing vibes
I cancelled my Membership 5 yrs ago, but I have a friend that loves their wine. We spent 2 weeks on the coast and visited Edna Valley location 3 times, once as a VIP tasting. On our last visit, 7/5/24 we had the worst customer service ever (again)!! We had a reservation for 6, but had 2 husbands that did NOT want to taste, but wanted to wait thru the 1.5 hr tasting. They said NO, there was no room even though we sat at the same table 1 week before with a party of 10 vs 8!! The ladies were rude, and it wasn't even busy... absolutely nobody inside, so they left. At the end, Mia said they were running a 4th of July special, 10% off, with an additional 10% if you purchased a case. Since my friend was a "Captain" level Member, Mia verified this case would be a 50% Discount! So she purchased one case and off we went! Later, Upon review of the receipt, she only received a 30% discount. She called and spoke with the Manager, and was told 30% was all they could do and they would not seat more than 6 at any reservation! Needless to say, my friend also cancelled her Membership!! HORRIBLE customer service, too many wineries to choose from!?
Update 7/8/2024 - We received the credit Originally promised!! The process was not pleasant, but appreciate they followed through!
My favorite winery and yes,I have tried them all?
We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and had a wonderful experience. When we first arrived, it was a bit busy, and took some time for us to be acknowledged. However, once we were seated, the tasting four our group of five was delightful. The wines are all well made, and are fairly priced for the quality and region. Our server was very friendly, taking time to describe the wine, winemaking, and background. Our server also accommodated one of our party who took longer with each tasting, moving the rest of us along, and then catching up the slow taster at the end. The ground are lovely, with an inspiring late afternoon vista from the parking area. Inside the facility, we were able to watch some of the staff working on the wine making tanks. There are also several nice merchandise displays, and some non-alcoholic beverages. There is an indoor bar, but looks like this is not actively used, since everyone we saw was seated outside. There is also a stylish indoor club lounge, which is apparently reserved for members.
We had a good experience with our tasting here. Big shout out to Pamela for helping us and for giving us some other recommendations in the area. We walked out with a couple bottles, and that's what happens with wine people enjoy :)
Very friendly
Nope. This is one of those wineries I won’t be visiting a second time. The tasting room is nice and the grounds are very well kept and clean, but here ends the positives. The wines across the board were just not good, my opinion only of course. Each bottle from white to red fell flat and we dumped our glasses after one sip. (Just like at Paris Valley Rd Winery another winery related to this one). The prices were also really high per bottle but the biggest offense to me was the 3 bottle minimum to wave the tasting fee!?!? Outrageous!!! Most places make you buy a bottle or two to waive the tasting fee, but 3??? No.
Great wines. Beautiful place
Love Sextant wine! I have always loved the Pinot and the Zin. I miss Sextant!
Greatest wine and people. GSMs are great!! Still the greatest in all aspects!!! New wine just keeps getting better. Thank you

Beautiful tasting environments and delicious wines. I came back from out of state especially to revisit this winery!
We are wine club members since 2018. Love all of their wines. Since we live in Las Vegas, we don’t get over to Paso Robles often. We reserved a wine members lounge tasting & expected something more. The pours were a little more liberal, but the tasting menu was same as general public. I thought we’d get to taste some of the better wines. Michele said she could only pour a tasting if a bottle was already opened, so maybe come back on the weekend. I ended up buying 6 bottles of the good stuff for $400, but it would have been nice to taste it since I’m a wine club member.
What an amazing experience in September! From our first communication with Amy through our afternoon at Sextant, everything was wonderful. Amy worked with me to find a date that worked for my husband and I to visit for their private wine tasting experience (after some date goofs on my end), and we were so glad that she was the one who led us through the tour and tasting. Amy was a wonderful host and wine educator; we loved our time there (and the wines) so much, we joined their wine club. Just received our first shipment today!! Can't recommend this spot enough (and if you're lucky enough to get the opportunity to do a tasting with Amy, jump on it!).
Reservations Only and seemingly for no reason. The place had open seats, room at the bar, etc. We stood at the bar for several minutes being ignored by the two ladies behind the bar, another lady came out and asked if we had reservations just as we were getting ready to walk out. When we said no, she went into a spiel about being busy but by that point, my wife and I were headed out the door. Won't be reserving a tasting. Won't be buying their wine. Plenty of other places around who want to show off their fantastic wines.
Sextant is one of our favorite winery stops in Paso Robles area. Beautiful tasting room. Great service and always excellent wine.
