My favorite winery and yes,I have tried them all?

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and had a wonderful experience. When we first arrived, it was a bit busy, and took some time for us to be acknowledged. However, once we were seated, the tasting four our group of five was delightful. The wines are all well made, and are fairly priced for the quality and region. Our server was very friendly, taking time to describe the wine, winemaking, and background. Our server also accommodated one of our party who took longer with each tasting, moving the rest of us along, and then catching up the slow taster at the end. The ground are lovely, with an inspiring late afternoon vista from the parking area. Inside the facility, we were able to watch some of the staff working on the wine making tanks. There are also several nice merchandise displays, and some non-alcoholic beverages. There is an indoor bar, but looks like this is not actively used, since everyone we saw was seated outside. There is also a stylish indoor club lounge, which is apparently reserved for members.

3.5 Stars Tasting Flight: $25/tasting for 5 pours (fee waived with three bottle purchase). Beautiful winery sitting on a hilltop overlooking the surrounding vineyards and neighboring wineries. The tasting room has a massive bar with one of the most beautiful bar tops I've seen in a winery, and a Members Only tasting area with spectacular views of the vineyards. We were the first to arrive, so we had the place to ourselves. Janet poured for us, and the service was good. The wines were well made, but not exactly matching our palates. For us, the whites were a little too crisp (we like oak on our whites), and the reds were a little too light bodied, with the exception of their '19 Kamal Cabernet Sauvignon. My opinion aside, I always recommend you check them out for yourself, as your palate may love everything they pour. Also, IMO, bottle prices seem to be pricy.

Sextant Winery is the best winery in CA if not in North America. There are 3 tasting rooms, one in San Luis Obispo and two in Paso Robles. My wife and my four friends (Leonor, Emmy, Celso and Oscar) did the VIP tasting in Paso and San Luis Obispo (SLO), OMG, it was the best wine tasting experience we ever had, Amy was our host and the customer service she provided was outstanding. All the wines she poured were all delicious, (we bought over 8 cases of wines) she was very knowledgeable all the wines she was pouring, she described what makes great wine great, the wine attibutes of greatness e.g. distinctiveness, balance, precision, complexity, beyond fruitness, length; also she described the building blocks of wine like alcohol which is a critical constituent of wine, the acid content, the tannin, fruitness, dryness and sweetness. Additionally, Amy defined the difference of wines made in SLO (cooler climate) and Paso (hotter climate) temperature swings between day and night, region, terroir, the type/s of barel use, the wine storage temperatures, the winemaking process etc. Hello Guys, if you're looking for great wines and outstanding wine tasting experience, please contact Sextant Winery and ask for Amy and book the VIP tasting experience, you'll be thankful that you did it and I guarantee that you'll never be disappointed!!! The entire Sextant team was very professional and great asset to Sextant Winery.

We had a good experience with our tasting here. Big shout out to Pamela for helping us and for giving us some other recommendations in the area. We walked out with a couple bottles, and that's what happens with wine people enjoy :)

Sextant winery is one of our favorite wineries. With every tasting they pair the current favorites from each grouping to make sure that everyone's pallets are met. Not only are the wines great but the food is also great. Such a friendly atmosphere and our server had great recommendations for us.

Nope. This is one of those wineries I won’t be visiting a second time. The tasting room is nice and the grounds are very well kept and clean, but here ends the positives. The wines across the board were just not good, my opinion only of course. Each bottle from white to red fell flat and we dumped our glasses after one sip. (Just like at Paris Valley Rd Winery another winery related to this one). The prices were also really high per bottle but the biggest offense to me was the 3 bottle minimum to wave the tasting fee!?!? Outrageous!!! Most places make you buy a bottle or two to waive the tasting fee, but 3??? No.

The winery is a pleasant place to land and the staff is friendly. I joined the wine club and have had two deliveries. I was disappointed with both. This latest was two GSMs and a Syrah with 2% viognier. They were grocery store wine, all three of them. And cost $70 a bottle with tax and shipping included. Previous delivery was a bit better...there were better varietals. Zin, I think, maybe cab. I've always liked the Sextant zin found in grocery stores, but the pricier stuff isn't as good. Try Tobin James for a better club deal and better wine.

The wine was not to our taste. With good service, we could have overlooked the underwhelming wine however that did not happen. The tasting room and property looked great but the service seemed, sloppy. Rather than using a container for discarding wine, the waitress poured the glasses on the rock bed near by. Just not becoming, just like the wine.

Beautiful tasting environments and delicious wines. I came back from out of state especially to revisit this winery!

We are wine club members since 2018. Love all of their wines. Since we live in Las Vegas, we don’t get over to Paso Robles often. We reserved a wine members lounge tasting & expected something more. The pours were a little more liberal, but the tasting menu was same as general public. I thought we’d get to taste some of the better wines. Michele said she could only pour a tasting if a bottle was already opened, so maybe come back on the weekend. I ended up buying 6 bottles of the good stuff for $400, but it would have been nice to taste it since I’m a wine club member.
