We have a subscription and it comes on-time with lovely seasonal wine picked by the winemaker.
Discovered this wine brand at the 2025 BlendFest event. We went to their stargazing wine tasting event, and it was incredible. Following a three-day storm, clear skies and fresh air returned. The wine-tasting room, a half-mile off Highway 46, is easy to miss; use your GPS to ensure a safe and quick arrival. Parking is ample, with space for about 40 vehicles. This elegant rustic property offers a wonderful ambiance, including a water fountain and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Sampling their wines at BlendFest led me to try their 2015 Reserve Mercurey Cabernet Sauvignon, a library wine that exceeded expectations. The lounge music, cheese board, stars, and new friends complemented each other perfectly. I especially want to thank the vendor for the amazing charcuterie boards at the wine and stargazing event; the meats, cheeses, fruits, and chocolates were a perfect complement to the experience.
Had a great time, Steve was the best. Great wine, beautiful location. And dog friendly!
The Syrah is amazing!
If it weren’t for the horrible service we received I would give this place 5 stars. We walk in and the whole place REEKED of bleach. We asked to sit outside for our tasting due to the smell and the older man with glasses behind the desk said (jokingly but not in a haha way) “I’m tired so you can sit inside” I persisted that we could not sit inside and so he said fine and we sat outside. Then during the tasting he skipped one of the wines and argued with us saying he didn’t until we asked enough questions and then he goes “oh…you’re right I did.” On top of all of this, the tasting pours were a third of what is normally poured during a wine tasking. Like hardly 2 sips per glass.
I wanted to buy a couple bottles because the wine was so good, but after his service, and his attitude I didn’t want to give them any more of my money!
So disappointing.
The wines are all excellent and the employees are Great...
Excellent price point for the quality of the wine, we always come back when we visit Paso.
As always, Shale Oak is a joy. Love a place that is dog friendly as well as eco-friendly. The wine is outstanding: 100 pt. Syrah!
This is the most beautiful dog-friendly eco-friendly winery in Paso Robles- charming, relaxing, the vibes are authentic and buzzy and the staff are warm and engaging.
Very good wine here, unique flavor, quite surrounding, we met owner here and he is so kind and treat us very well.
We will come back soon!
I'm not big on wine, however these wines have definitely piqued my interest. Very easy to drink, and I have to praise Steve for his knowledge on the wines, and his hospitality. Cannot recommend stopping by enough.

One of our favorite wineries in Paso! The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the outdoor area is perfect for lunch. Super dog friendly with some fun treats for yhe pups! The Albariño is one of our favorites from the area - definitely recommend adding as a stop for the day!
This amazing winery is LEED-certified and dog-friendly. Steve is very knowledgeable. I signed up for the wine club immediately. They have live music every Saturday. Such a great experience! Highly recommended.
Our tasting experience today with Steve was fabulous! It was a great dog friendly location with great music and atmosphere. The wines were wonderful and Steve was very informative in sharing about the wines!
Our favorite place in all central coast. Nothing compared to the deep robust taste of their red wines and no I won’t share shale oaks wine for it is amazing with every sip. One can Never have enough bottles of Shale Oaks wine. I tell all my friends about Shale Oaks. The building is so beautiful and it’s all sustainable. We are members and love their events. And try their food options too, yum yum. I tell all my friends to go to Shale Oaks for it’s the best. We have traveled the world and always end up at Shale Oaks. Their wine bottles are great presents too. Nothing but greatness at Shale Oaks Winery. The best.
