I have to say this experience was beyond incredible. The wine, the food, the clear personal connection the guy had to what he is serving is worth reserving and going. It’s clear he puts so much time into choosing the wines and preparing the food. It’s a truly special experience and the best of any that we had in our trip to Paso. We were provided with detailed unpretentious explanations of the excellent wines and got one of the best meals we could have expected. It was rich and sweet and perfect.

Ian, the mastermind behind the concept, is an incredible host. He welcomes you with the warmth and enthusiasm that makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into his home. His deep knowledge, storytelling, and ability to connect each wine and dish to a personal journey made the night not only delicious, but also engaging and fun.
Each course was thoughtfully curated and expertly paired, highlighting ingredients and wines in ways that were both surprising and delightful.

Somm’s Kitchen is a restaurant, and it serves good food. But more accurately, Somm’s Kitchen is the premier wine experience the Central Coast has to offer. Ian, the proprietor, is a veritable vault of wine knowledge and the passion he displays as he explains each course and it’s double (!) wine pairing is second to none. The wines he selects change every evening, and they are seriously good. I'm 40, and tonight he served a Bordeaux two years older than me. It was an unforgettable experience! There is a reason why reservations for Somm’s Kitchen are so difficult to come by. Do yourself a favor and snatch one up if you can.

This is a special, special place. The whole experience was wonderful and Ian (the Somm in question, owner and chef) was so knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. We were so lucky to get a space off the waitlist for one of the lunches (typically booked months in advance - plan ahead!) and we walked in with no real expectations but everything was a total delight. The food was DELICIOUS (of particular note - the French Onion soup cheese, he says he makes this almost every time) and was a great way to experience the various wines (I think he served us 11 different in the end). Amazing and HIGHLY recommend!!!

Not only did he personally cook for our group, delivering delicious and beautifully presented dishes, but he also gave us a fascinating history of his carefully selected wines. He took the time to serve us each wine to taste, which paired perfectly with the meal. The wines were excellent and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience.
