Please don’t go here for a craft coffee experience. The drip coffee was like warm and the espresso was over extracted. I asked for it for here and they gave it to me in a paper cup. Please go somewhere else. Also, their ice cream for the affogato was stale.
Amazing coffee! Try the Aztec mocha and Cortado!!
Would give this place a 0 for service if I could. The women working had orange hair and another had short blonde hair. The orange haired woman scoffed when I told her she got my order wrong. I watched the blonde haired girl ignore a man asking for help several times. Coffee was weak, overpriced and lacked flavor. $13 for a muffin and a 12oz single shot latte. Been here a few times and each time has been lame. Won’t be back. Too many other good options to waste another dollar here.
The coffee and atmosphere are great but the service needs to improve. The newer baristas are too slow and inefficient. The baristas that have been there for several years are great. As a regular customer since 2016 I will say that it is effecting your business in a negative manner. I have to avoid your establishment if there’s more than two customers in line because it will take 15 minutes to get a latte.. The two girls working today 6/15/25 @5:30pm have me questioning if I’ll return to your establishment. As a business owner myself, I would offer the older baristas a raise and more hours and fire the newer baristas.
I’ve visited Spearhead Coffee twice now, and both times the wait was surprisingly long. On my most recent visit, I stood in line for about 15–20 minutes just to place an order, and then waited another 10–12 minutes for my drink. I completely understand that independent coffee shops take a bit more time than big chains like Starbucks or Peet’s—and I actually prefer local spots for that reason. But the wait here felt excessive and, unfortunately, just not worth it.
I ordered a medium iced triple-shot Solstice Latte, and I was genuinely disappointed with how it turned out. The drink—which includes almond-infused honey, cardamom, and ginger—sounded unique and promising, but the final result was milky, underwhelming, and lacking in flavor. It didn’t taste balanced at all, especially considering the amount of espresso I expected from a triple shot.
I ended up driving just a few minutes down the road to another coffee shop and ordered a very similar drink (this time with gingerbread syrup) and the difference was night and day—better flavor, better balance, better experience overall.
I even called Spearhead afterward to express my disappointment and request a refund, since I didn’t want to head back in given how busy it was and the time I had already spent waiting.
One other note: their system for handing out drinks could really use some improvement. They don’t consistently call out names—just drink types—which leads to confusion, especially when the shop is busy. Only mobile orders seem to get name calls, but in a packed café, that’s not the most efficient method.
I want to like this place because I support local coffee culture, but based on both visits, I’m not sure I’ll be back.
It was a busy morning with a long line but they were quick to get the drinks out and the staff was super friendly. I like to get a drip and a specialty coffee when I visit a spot so I went with the horchata cold brew and the house drip. The drip coffee was fresh and tasty. The cold brew was strong and had a hint of cinnamon. They roast their own beans so you know the coffee is going to be as fresh as it can get.
I love the coffee and location, and the food is good. All freshly made. However the service is aloof and they don’t always get your order right. My frittata took forever (they forgot about it) and then the wrong one was delivered to the counter. I ate it anyway. No No I’m sorry or excuses.
Drinks were creative and tasty, lobed the pour over and the aztec mocha. But I was not a fan of the pastries, they were a bit underwhelming for me. But this seems to be a local favorite, coffee quality ks definitely waayyy better than any Starbuck
Cute and lively coffee shop, bustling even on a weekday morning. I had their seasonal honey comb latte and it was very good. Their wifi could be faster, but I can’t complain because they let me sit in here and work for like 4 hours, thank you!
Coffee was wonderful! We went on a Monday morning & there was a decent line, so be prepared to wait. However, of the coffee we had in town this was the best so just be patient.

Ordered cappuccino and it was extremely bitter…had gotten one before and it seemed okay…this was barely drinkable…typical problem with local coffee shops…they’re unfortunately very inconsistent…high turnover…different people pulling the shots/etc…not sure what their roasting standards are…oh well the search continues!
Good cafes and few food options. I ordered an Ethiopian coffee and a bagel. Both were mto delicious. The coffee took longer than the bagel and the service left a little to be desired. Hopefully the staff will improve and be more friendly as well as more food options will appear.
