Fun Biergarten on the outskirts of downtown Paso Robles. I had their veggie burger and a local ipa. Both were tasty. Tons of seating and lots of shade, very dog friendly.

They made the experience of the private event top-notch and helped us with in-the-moment recommendations.

Celebrated my 40th birthday here and I was surprised how good the food is. We got tacos, fries, and a sandwich. Good food and good beers. Russell, the owner is also very kind and accommodating. I 100% recommend this place if you're looking for a good time. I can't wait to come back. Thank you for such a great experience.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. The staff were really great, attentive and friendly. The food was above average and par with today's pricing. They have a broad selection of beers and drinks and there are a lot of seating options. Good place for lunch.

10/10. The space is so cute. Picnic tables. Shaded couches and lounge chairs, bar seating, shade and sun, there’s a spot for everyone. They have a turf fenced in area that might be like a kids play area but we were the only ones back there so we let our dogs off leash.. seemed to be okay, which was excellent for us. The food was excellent. Mushroom tacos hit the spot. They have the best French fries I have ever had. In my life. It’s like a potato wedge they slice into flat little strips. Phenomenal. Cool beer selection and they have a very decent hard kombucha selection which was exciting. Loved it, would be back

Great spot to wrap our wedding weekend! We hosted a casual farewell brunch here the morning after our wedding. We had a private section of the outdoor space and a private line at the bar for our guests to order on our bar tab. We had our hearts set on serving bagels and mimosas, neither of which are on the Backyard’s usual menu. Amy and Russ were so accommodating – they provided sparking wine and juice in the price of our bar tab for a variety of mimosa flavors, and let us bring in a catered bagel spread from Johnny Boy’s Bagelry without an additional charge for outside food (side note, HIGHLY recommend Johnny Boy’s). Amy stuck around for our whole event and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. She was so kind and really went out of her way to make sure we had an easy and great experience. Definitely recommend hosting an event at The Backyard!

Paul who works the beer counter was rude to our group including my young daughter and ultimately gave us a horrible experience (and others around us). We arrived here after the rain and multiple groups asked for the gas heaters to be turned on. Paul threw his hands up in the air and stormed off with no rhyme or reason. After he returned we asked how it was going - no response. The last straw was when my daughter went up the counter to get some water and he served other people first after she made her request. I will contact local Paso business leaders in the area and actively work to not support establishments that employ sewer people.

Admittedly there was some type of issue in their kitchen on a non-busy night but this was not disclosed during order. Waited 50 minutes and $24+ on a gas station quality sandwich. Precooked pulled pork on an over toasted (hard and parts burnt) bun. No toppings. I am at a lost for words.

Ambiance and patio setup is nice tho!

UPDATE: As a Paso local - this is easily one of the best places to eat & drink in town. The beers is amazing and it's a perfect place to relax and chill in a very laid back environment.

Highly recommended!

Drinks and ambience were good. The food was incredibly disappointing and overpriced for what it was. We got the shrimp po boys- the bread was probably 80% of the sandwich, it had 6 pieces of shrimp and a lot of lettuce/tomato. Was not even remotely worth the $18 bucks.

Maybe we just ordered poorly and the rest of the food is decent- seems to be a well reviewed place overall. Would not recommend the shrimp po boy.

Food came out at different intervals which sucked for the three of us. Food was delicious.
Service is great. Huge selection of beers on tap and can/bottle. AND they have a big selection of non alcoholic beers. Dog friendly . Come hang out . :)

Unfortunately it is kid friendly and from our time their we saw a lot of parents with really young kids, drinking and letting the little kids run around without supervision, we had two little kids come up to our table to try and eat our food. Not cool and shouldn’t be allowed:

A great family friendly setup with 20+ beers on tap and delicious food to accompany it. With a fenced off area for families and outside games for the kids plus kids sized benches, it made for a fun lunch!

One of the first breweries I've seen to offer a Shrimp PO' Boy, so we had to get that! Fantastic! 🍤🥖🍺

Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian burger and we added chips for $2

Kid-friendliness: Kids benches and tables, giant connect 4 and giant Jenga plus a fenced off area
