I went here thinking it was still the “Tin Canteen.” When I saw it was now “McPhee’s Canteen “ I thought it could not be bad, but it was, terrible actually and the service was even worse.I ordered the artichoke pizza and it was half crust with hardly any cheese on it. It seems impossible to make a bad pizza, but they did. I didn’t even want to eat it.They don’t even give you water with your meal, you have to go outside and get it from an igloo dispenser that is literally tap water without any ice. When I went to order a beer after I realized how disgusting the tap water was, I had to wait until one of the four people behind the counter argued about who was going to help me. Then when someone finally came, they asked what I wanted, I ordered and then he took his earbud out and said, “wait, what was that?“ I will NEVER go here again. Do yourself a favor and eat BEFORE you go out to Tin City for drinks.

The Kobe beef patty melt had a thick patty of meat and was delicious as it sounds. My wife had the fish taco and said it was the best she'd had since moving here. Bright eatery with plenty of inside/outside seating. A must location to stop for lunch in Paso Robles, CA. I will be coming back.

Popped over to Tin City on Saturday to check it out. After doing a wine tasting at San Luige, we decided to grab a bite for lunch. Very pleasantly surprised at the variety of the menu. Husband had the Steak and Blue salad and was pleased with the portion, the flavors and the cook on the steak. Salad was dressed with just the right amount of creamy blue cheese crumbles to enhance but not overpower the flavors. I opted for the Lamb Burger and was super happy. Great flavor profile of the lamb meat mixed with the feta cheese, pickled onions (which I usually don't like) and Harissa mint mayo was excellent. The burger was HUGE and delicious. Also got an order of crinkle fries to split. Very crispy and tasty, only issue was the menu never mentioned they came seasoned, which my husband doesn't like. I wish they had come plain and let us add salt of our choosing.

Good food and atmosphere lots of seating outside. Can get busy at times. I am a local who has come here a handful of times and always enjoyed the food.

rolled in to get a bit of food before we continued on a wine tasting excursion. but totally floored at the taste and execution of the fare! ordered the lamb burger. yes. maybe not for everyone but i swear you should try it. ground lamb, feta cheese crumbles and pickled onions!!! the earthy lamb, the salty umami feta, and the sharp bit of vinegary onion. and the bun/roll...i had no words. friend had the miso ahi (tuna) sandwich. literally a disc of solid ahi. not a patty of pieces. SOLID and only seared so the center is cool. UNBELIEVABLY good! Heard another customer say their chix strips are not the kids' menu fare (altho they are on the kids' menu. ) Even their crinkle-cut fries (thin) are perfect. Just tip 20% at ordering bcuz the cooks are just that talented. I woulda ordered another meal cuz it's that yummy!

Before enjoying what Tin City has to offer, my husband and I decided lunch might be in order. While there are plenty of wine and beer tasting spots, food spots are lacking. I believe McPhee's Canteen is the only restaurant in the area besides an ice cream shop. We stopped in about 11:15 since the doors were open to find out they don't actually open until 11:30. However, the kind woman behind the counter offered to take our order and serve us drinks to enjoy while waiting. The restaurant is quite large with an open kitchen, plenty of indoor seating and a large patio with a beautiful rock waterfall. The menu includes wood-fired pizza, Snake River Farms American kobe burgers, salads, sandwiches, fish & chips among other choices. We decided to split the Meat Pizza which is advertised as having house made tomato sauce, N'duja meat spread, Calabrese salami, Italian sausage, and a four cheese spread. Our number was called when it was done and my husband picked up our hot and pretty tasty pizza. I had not had N'duja before, but it's a delicious, spicy pork fat sausage spread with Calabrian chili peppers. It added a great flavor and just a bit of spice to our pizza. I normally sprinkle herbs, red pepper flakes and a bit of parmigiana on my pizza if it's available. Not needed with this one - delicious as is. We enjoyed sitting out on their large outdoor patio. It was quite relaxing with the sounds from the waterfall. Great start to a great visit to Tin City!

The RU Nuts pizza was fantastic! We loved the outdoor patio with waterfall feature.

Had tritip blue cheese salad wedge. For a region that prides itself on tritip, it was mostly fat and gristle. Disappointing. Also cold in restaurant. Had to wear coat.

We came here for lunch before we started our drinking adventures for the day and it did not disappoint. We wanted something hearty for our tummies to soak up the wine we were about to consume and this did just the trick. Everything looked soo good, I went for the burger, it was huge and delicious and I just was full and content afterward. It did help that I didn't eat one of the buns, because it was just humongous and also it did save some carbs, so win win. Nice indoor/outdoor venue, generous portions and fast service.

After a disappointing dinner at Paso dwtwn, we figured not to expect too much. McPhee's can get busy but was so glad we waited! The staff was all masked and so nice! I asked the cook if they were able to accommodate some food allergies, and was very helpful in telling us what we could order. We ate at the cozy patio, accompanied by two adorable tuxedo cats watching us. We had a plain burger, fish and chips, a lamb burger, and a margherita pizza. The food was very tasty and the portions were so large, we couldn't finish it. They also had a nice selection of salads for vegetarians or healthy eaters.
