Sushi is very average, both the fish and the rice are dry as if they've been sitting out for a long time. Special rolls are uninspired. Miso soup is bland. Atmosphere is very sterile. Service is HORRIBLE. Skip this place and go to Goshi, just a couple blocks away, where everything is first-rate.

Terrible Service Waited 15 minutes to be seated while there were more seats unoccupied then occupied. When We questioned why we had to wait when there were plenty of seats available and no customers they said they were only seating according to what the cooks could handle. So in other word we had to wait to be seated until everybody that was eating was served first. Never have I encountered this in a restaurant. Maybe we would have been sympathetic if the hostess would have taken the time to explain this from the beginning rather then to let us standing there forever until we had to ask to find out. Looks like according to the other reviews they have a problem with this but ..just don't care. I don't see any responses back to these numerous bad reviews from maybe an owner or manager so apparently they just don't give a darn.

Oh my god! THIS SLAPS! I don’t get sushi that often because it’s not that exciting to me, and it’s expensive. But no. This sushi is AMAZING. I got the monkey balls, a protein one, aaaand a garlic thing. Every bite, I was like - THIS IS SO GOOD! How did they even do this?!

I love this place. They even invented my own roll for me (and named it after me!) when I replaced crab in a dragon roll with ahi. Really fun people, and great food.

I have been ordered the Unagi Bowl for quite awhile now. But recently it seems they keep changing it. It used to come with at least 1/2 an avocado, but now they are being as tight as possible.
Over $20 for a rice bowl and they can’t even put more than 3 paper thin slices of avocado. It’s absolutely ridiculous considering it’s one of the main components of the dish
Use a whole damn avocado for this bowl. I will order this 1 more times, if it comes like this again. Then you lost a customer.

My boyfriend and I loved umi and 805 ramen and support them often. It is such a shame because of the multiple chances giving them the benefit of the doubt. We came into umi with just 2 guests total and the server charged us a service fee for 6 guests and up. When I asked her what the service fee was she didn't answer me and just said "I'll take that off for you" I had to ask again until she said what it was and was very shady about it. Very disappointed that she did this to us. Especially since my boyfriend and I both work in the restaurant industry and make sure to tip well. I will definitely be spreading the word on their dishonest practices.
