I had this place on my bucket list for a while and finally got to try it—and it didn’t disappoint! I ordered the hot cocoa latte, which was smooth and not overly sweet (just how I like it). I also tried the Chapin chicken tamale, and it was unlike any tamale I’ve had before. The masa seemed to be made from rice, giving it a unique texture, almost like a comforting soup in the best way. It left me feeling satisfied without being overly full.

Overall, it’s a great spot for breakfast with fair prices. Definitely recommend!

The espresso at ChapMayan Coffee is top tier. I hit a lot of local coffee shops, and it’s rare to find an espresso that actually tastes this good on its own.
I’m a straight coffee guy — whole milk or heavy cream, no sweeteners. When an espresso has this much depth, balance, and smoothness without needing anything added, that’s when you know it’s legit.
Clean, bold flavor with zero bitterness. Easily a 5-star espresso in my book. ☕🔥

My grandma and I decided to try this out today and were pleasantly surprised. The food, pastries, and coffee were all immaculate. We had the almond croissant, fruit tart, and the chuchitos. Almond croissant was good, fruit tart was flavorful through all parts (how many times I’ve had a fruit tart and it’s been flavorful in the middle but the pastry itself is plain and gross I don’t care to recount,) and the chuchitos were savory, masa was great texture and the meat inside as well. Mind you my grandma can make chuchitos by hand and these were almost as good as hers (don’t tell her that.)

The coffee was amazing. The amount of times I’ve ordered a simple latte from places like Starbucks or coffee bean and had it burnt or just been subpar is crazy and this coffee easily beats it. Normally I’d have to drive quite a while to get something of this quality but I’ll be coming here for coffee regularly now.

Give everything a try, we’re coming back 100% and if you’re not familiar with Mayan culture or food the staff are all very kind, efficient, and treat you so well.

If you are looking for handcrafted lattes and beverages this is a cozy gem. Barista's provide top quality service and have an authentic menu paired with drinks that are made with the best ingredients. Highly recommend getting your matcha latte here. 🍵

A true hidden gem in Pico Rivera!
You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. I’ve been about 10 times now, and it still never disappoints. The food is an authentic taste of Guatemala — the chuchitos and the shuco chapín are must-tries.

My father-in-law is from Guatemala and is usually very particular about his food, so I was pleasantly surprised when he not only loved everything… but even went back for seconds. That alone says a lot!

The staff are an amazing group of people. They’ll sit and talk with you, make you feel at home, and their warm hospitality really adds to the experience. The upbeat cultural music playing in the background ties everything together and makes the atmosphere feel even more authentic.

This place has officially become a regular spot for my family and me. Highly recommend!

Is there anything more in life than a tamale and a matcha latte? Cozy shop with a proud nod to Guatemala. Good flow of customers.
