For a place that was pretty empty, I got my drink wayyyyy after the lovely older couple. They got menus, silverware, appetizers, and I finally got my drink. I was sitting right next to them, arrived at the same time, and she didn’t take my order. I got my drink, paid, and provided the well deserved $1 tip.

The atmosphere was nice and the esthetic of the place was great. The reason for my low star rating is solely based on the bartender. She was by far the most irritating and insufferable person to have behind the bar. I have never had a person talk nonstop to the point of this woman. We wanted to stay for another drink but to think of having to spend another minute around her was enough to close our tab.

The server was overwhelmed with tables. From the time we sat down to getting our food, it took 50 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes to get the bill. We had to stand up and go to the register to pay.

What's not to love about this rooftop location in the iconic California beach town of Pismo Beach? The view is fantastic and the coastal cool vibe will have you humming Beach Boys tunes in no time. The food, however, is the shining star with coastal Italian fare celebrating the best seasonal flavors and fresh seafood dishes too. The only thing that distracts unfortunately is the slooooooooow service. Sadly, the other reviews are 100% spot on in regard to service. As long as you can look past the service issue (which is really tough to ignore these days considering the cost of dining out) then you'll be in for a delicious meal here.

The ambiance of the rooftop is fabulous. The service was poor. Either they did not have enough staff, or they just want your dining experience to be really really slow. I ended up going to the bar to get something for us all to drink. The food took a long time (is it because they have to bring it up to the rooftop? If so, maybe that should be on the advertising. That it will be a very slow dining experience.) The people were friendly, just so slow and didn't check on us much. The view was amazing and I will be back just for that. The food was better than it used to be. The wine prices are outrageous. I eat out all over the city and this was not a good value for how much they actually pour. I would have said it was 5-6 ounces for $14-17. That was disappointing. But I will be back just because of the fantastic view and the ambiance. The remodel up there is really great. Well done. The firepits are awesome.

The reviews are accurate: a bunch of very friendly people running an embarrasingly incompetent operation. Views are great though!

The rooftop deck and view were great. However, our server completely ruined the experience. There was a complete lack of attention and no effort to offer good service. Despite there being only a couple of tables beside us, our server (Ke*****, with blonde hair) made multiple mistakes. Basic manners were ignored, and it was even difficult for her to say a simple ‘sorry’ when she spilled hot drink on me. The management should be aware of the quality of their staff when deciding who will be the server.

Gosh - beautiful location but waitress was rude and simply didn't want to be there. Kept us waiting for our table from the get go even though wasn't busy, missed the olive starter when we only ordered olives and chips, and told us that as guests of the Hilton Garden Inn not Hilton Inn at the Pier, we couldn't have the wifi passcode even if we paid. We even discreetly let the waitress know her Jean button fly was undone, and she just blanked us. We left early. What a shame when the person who serves you can ruin a wonderful concept.

Very poorly managed . Upon arrival I had a reservation they had no clue I had a reservation and gave away the last table I ended up sitting in the bar area and the heater was broken took probably 15 minutes before anybody even acknowledged they were there the poor waitress did her best but she was definitely struggling with a bad managed restaurant
