It is what it is. Enjoyed the local population, but for me there are other better options in Placentia or nearby Fullerton. Prices have almost doubled over the last five years plus if you use a card, expect a credit card fee will be added so the restaurant does not have that exposure.

Chips and salsa came out first. Salsa was decent, nice mild spice to it, chips were cooked but felt heavy and extremely oily. As if they sat in oil longer and absorbed it. They also tasted like old oil. I ordered 5 tacos that came out with one lime wedge and guacamole 😂 no green or red salsa. Was very awkward. Tortilla has an odd texture. undercooked but super oily. My friends ordered wet burritos and those seemed ok. Another friend ordered shrimp cocktail. Said shrimp felt mushy and instead of a Clamato sauce it was just ketchup. I didn’t believe him so I tried it for myself… it was literally ketchup soup. Was very very awkward food. Definitely not authentic. Will never go back.

I was traveling and came in right before close on a Sunday. Maps said they were open until 9pm but it was really 8pm. They seated me anyway and I ate 4 excellent street tacos and a beer as quick as I could and paid cash since I felt bad for keeping them late. Staff was super nice!

We used El Cantarito to cater for a 50th anniversary party for 70 people. Francisco was helpful with the preparation and menu. The cost was reasonable compared to other restaurants we quoted. We had chicken enchiladas, beef and chicken fajitas, beans, rice, tortillas, salsa and chips. The food was delivered hot and on time to the venue. Everything was delicious and so fresh!
Was visiting from out of town and stumbled upon a tiktok that recommend this place. And OH MY GOSH it was amazing. The food was authentic and tasted amazing and left us in a food coma. Highly recommend the chilaquiles and cheese enchiladas. The red sauce made you crave more for sure. We will willingly make the drive to continue to eat here. The atmosphere was very homey and the waiter was kind.

I’m 57 and have been to plenty of Mexican restaurants. I have never ordered Fajitas that has potatoes and carrots. This place use to be full of life when guy named Eric use to work here. I guess the dad died and the brothers bought him out. Place sucks now! Beans taste terrible.

Best taco tuesday in Placentia by far. We should have tried this place years ago. Tacos were full of meat, onions, and cilantro, and the tortillas and salsa were delicious. Great service, too. Our new go-to taco spot.

My family and I really enjoy eating here. My mom and I had menudo. My daughter had the pozole and my son in law had the chiliquilles with eggs,beans,and rice. I heard about this restaurant through TikTok and needed a new restaurant to try. We will all be back soon.
