Went to Batia vineyards on main Street to support a friend who was playing an open mic set, didn't feel like drinking so I asked for water. Stayed for 45 minutes for the end of the set. Waiting for my friend to pack up, the owner came up and asked me to leave since he pays for the music. Really open mic gets paid?? Just plain RUDE. I will never go there again

Went here last weekend and had an awful experience. The staff seemed more into getting drunk than helping customers.

Worst place to see open mic. If you're not a wine drinker expect to pay $10 for a glass of water. Our table had 3 people, 2 of us had ordered a glass of wine $13 + tax ea, my wife doesn't drink wine....she just wanted a glass of water and they were pretty rude about it. Then wanted her to pay $10 since there was music.... not a band, just open mic. The sign on the door said 1 glass of wine or $10 cover on Fri and Sun on live music nights, which is when they have a regular band playing NOT open mic which was on Thursday night. Well they decided to tell us we had to pay the cover or leave..... I left my sparkling wine on the table and left with my wife and friend and will never set foot in that rude establishment again. I'm a local musician who would rather support any other venue for music than this uppity Winery. I've never been anywhere for an open mic that has had a minimum drink or cover charge. Not worth it at this disgusting place.

This is a great, fun stop if you're exploring downtown Placerville. Tasty wines, friendly staff, really cool space, lots of comfy sitting spaces, and great local music Thursday thru Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. Don't miss!

Great tasting room on Main St in Placerville. There's a couple other great tasting rooms on Main street, but the layout and ambience here is the best of the bunch IMHO, very friendly staff. Live music Friday and Sunday, open mic Thursdays, maybe other times, check with them. They exclusively serve their own own wines, which are very good, but no beer. Not sure about soft drinks. Light snacks but no food, though there are several good restaurants nearby. Well worth a visit.

Honestly walked into the wrong place and just sat down. Got a warm welcome and tried some wine for the first time. Definitely worth stopping by.

Accidentally found Batia when they were at the Courtland Sugar Mill. Doesn't take long to realize customers are welcomed as family. Barbara, Jim and Monique go the extra distance to make you feel welcomed and appreciated - there's no such thing as just a tasting because it's accompanied by good conversation and their inherent good nature. Just visited the new tasting room next to Placerville Hardware on Main Street and it is a great environment to match great people and great wine.

Batia Vineyards really does make you feel like family. A handicapped ramp makes this wonderful experience available to everyone. The 113-year-old Zinfandel vines make that red a must taste. Petite Syrah is continuing to make a strong comeback and that comes with a hearty recommendation! Finally, be sure to try the Marsanne, as this winery features wines from the Rhone Valley!
