My friends and I had been referred to this restaurant and arrived at 7:15 on a week night. The place was half full at the most and all booths along the wall were empty. We asked for a booth along the wall and were told the booths are reserved for parties of 4 (only 3 of us) We spoke with the manager and requested again since they were only open 45 more min and the chances slim, they would get many more people before closing. The manager said no way, against their policy. We reasoned again that all the booths were empty and he firmly told us to leave. WOW. Customer service terrible. We really wanted to try the food but wow. Never been treated so rudely.

My husband and I had never been here before but we’re so happy we finally tried it out! We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night and got sat right away which was awesome. We started with a Caesar salad to share and it was really really delicious. I got the seafood pasta which had soooo much flavor and all of the seafood was cooked to perfection. The portions are huge, so both of us have leftovers which is a win! We got the cannolis and tirimasu for dessert and both were delightful. Our server Darin was super attentive and welcoming, and helped make our experience really nice :) we will be back!!!

So the food was excellent our waitress was great! The owner was rude when we asked to be moved to a booth even when it was an half hour before closing time, and we noticed he was drinking beer on the job. We asked to sit in a booth and they said the booths were for 4 and we had 3 people, but the table was so small we could not fit our food on the table. I am a business owner and I thrive on customer service and I think the owner did not consider pleasing his customers at all.

This was our first time dining in at Bene, the food was delicious and plentiful! The service was great! We’ve had take out before and the food was good, but it’s even better at the restaurant.

We called ahead and were told there was no reservation necessary as it was first come-first served.We arrived on a Saturday afternoon just after they opened with only one table in use. We came with all our kids and grandkids. Party of nine plus one baby in a stroller. We got some strange looks from the manager as if that many people had never entered the establishment before. We were told we would have to squeeze six adults in a both and three others at a table. We asked for an additional small table to join with ours and the manager said no, that he needed space for other guests. Then my daughter offers to pay extra for an other table for two and we’re denied. Awhile into our meal another couple was seated behind us. They asked to join a couple tables together and were accommodated right away. The only difference I could see in our situations was that may family consists of 2 white, 2 black, and 5 Hispanic, while the other family was all white. Not sure why we got treated like our money was no good. The service from the wait staff was great and they were friendly, and the food was pretty good. But for some reason anytime we asked for our group size to be more comfortably accommodated they would go to the manager and he would look at us and say no. Needless to say we won’t be back.
We went to eat at Bene yesterday, and we had a pleasant experience. Our waiter was patient and did not rush or pressure our group of eight when we needed more time to order. We ordered the lasagna (good tomato flavor), pesto penne (lighter on the basil flavor, good parmesan, garlic, and cream flavor, and noodles were cooked perfectly), and a margherita pizza that was cooked very nicely. The servers were quick to bring us more water and drinks, and clear our dishes when we were done (10/10). The food is on the more expensive side, but the portions are generous. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and tasted freshly made. I would recommend this restaurant to others. Also, the bread they gave us with the pesto penne and lasagna was soo good! Very fresh and delicious.
Kid-friendliness: We had two young children with us, and they accommodated the older one with a high chair and provided special kids cups for both of them!

They won't let anyone sit in booths unless you have 4 or more. Actually saw them make a family of 3 wait 30 minutes to be seated because they only had 3 people, and every booth was open. Stupid rules

We had a bad experience with the service at this place. My husband and son came in to ask for a table for 4 people and the waitress told him that she didn't have a table for them. And that was it. She didn't tell him how long it would take to have a table available or come back. Which seemed unkind and disrespectful.

So just stopped in after some local wine tasting. I have to say, they have great wood fired pizza, full bar, and grest Italian food. When in Placerville this is a must stop place! Enjoy and Bene!!!
