The entire experience ordering here was awful. We’re incredibly disappointed with the complete lack of customer service, and the food we DID get was definitely not worth it. Employees will call you a liar, and refuse to refund missing food.
We placed a larger order (6 sandwiches and sides) for our workplace through the website for pickup. There was only one worker behind the counter, and I was alright with waiting for him to finish. They were out of two items, but we accepted a substitution for them both. After finishing, he had me go behind the counter to grab the items for the drinks, which was weird but whatever. After leaving and making it back, we noticed we were missing one of the sandwiches for our coworker. We called Dickeys and asked if we could return to pick up the missing food. He said no, so we asked for a refund. The employee said no, said he wasn’t going to do either. When asked again, he was going to call his manager and call back. We waited, and when the employee called back he said I was a LIAR, and that he “checked the cameras” as proof that he put the sandwich in the bag. That’s cool, but we’re still down a (not cheap!) sandwich and all, so obviously that’s not correct. This guy is still saying I’m lying, so I asked for the manager’s number, which he refused to give. By this point, we’re done, so I inform him we’ll be returning to get a refund and/speak to the manager. He finally says he’ll remake it. By the time we return to get it, he’s acting weird and smug when he hands over the bag. By this point, I don’t feel comfortable eating it safely. Based off this interaction, none of us feel comfortable eating there again. Do better.

Food was really great. The menu only shows combos and no pricing for anything else. Ordered a sandwich and was charged same price as a combo. Feels like it was intentionally misleading. Music was too loud. Actual menus with real pricing needs to be somewhere in the restaurant.

Food was good. But was double charged and never refunded. The lady ringing my order said the card didn’t go through the first time even though I should her it was pending my account already. I ran my card a second time. Both charges for $84.27 cleared my account. After calling that location and being told my card would be refunded it still has not been 4 weeks later. Be careful when paying card at this location.

We had Dickey’s cater our wedding and it was the best choice possible. We even did blind tastings from several shops in town, and this won by a long shot. The pork, so good, and the brisket was so tender and juicy. People werelining back up two to three times at our wedding. Very happy bride! Thank you!

We've loved coming here to eat. Usually great service and the food is really good! The newer older lady working is RUDE and not friendly whatsoever. She is very bad for this business. We won't be back after this!

I ordered over $140 worth of food and didn't receive the sides. Instead we got fries that were cold soggy and not cook all the way. The mac&cheese wasn't there. The communication with the employees to the customer was nonexistent. This is the worst experience I've ever had a a Dickey's. I've ordered from this Dickey's before several months ago and the service wasn't anything like this. The food quality really sicked.
We have been going to Dickey's for years, and we're excited when it opened in placerville. For the price this is the best bbq you can get anywhere, it's always consistent and a favorite with our family. We often cater our gatherings from Dickey's and always get rave reviews, a lot of people seem to be hesitant about trying this place for some reason. 10/10 would recommend

Went to Dickey's barbecue in Placerville on 11/17/24 Sunday. 1 person working there, she told me other worker was sick, had to go home. I felt bad for her as she was doing it all on her own. 2 of us ordered the brisket, 2 sides; beans with bacon, 1 potato casserole, 1 potato salade. All the hot stuff was cold, no bacon to be found in the beans, potato salad tasted old. We took a few bites of everything and couldn't finish it. Over $40 wasted. I noticed 2 male workers did come in to help after We were trying to eat. We left the food in the trays on the table. I did go up and complain and was told Sorry. No..let us make it over, just Sorry! I use to really love Dickeys barbecue, told my friend let's go there. I was so embarrassed, it was truly gross this time and the employee didn't care when I complained.
