This is not a bad place, but the food is inconsistent. They have a seafood dish listed as hot that I usually like and have ordered many times. It varies from hardly spicy at all to so hot I can’t enjoy it. I ordered an alternative non-spicy dish the last time that was inedible. Stir-fry is supposed to be a little crunchy. This was uncooked, barely hot. The broccoli raw, the shrimp at best half cooked, and the entire dish had an unpleasant smell. I’m looking around for someplace more reliable but haven’t completely given up on this one.

We came in at 8:22 PM, 40 minutes before closing. Having worked in restaurants myself, I'm fully aware that it's the kitchen that closes at the closing time. The sign even said they were open. However, upon walking inside, we were IMMEDIATELY turned away. Staff was clearly just too lazy to close on time, so prefer turning away customers almost an hour before closing. Ridiculous.

I ordered take out chicken chow mein and chicken fried rice. Very dissatisfied, no flavor and where are some vegetables. Mostly a rice and noodle dinner. I wont be back!

$2 - that is what a 1 star review is going to b worth - this has been my only Chinese place i have gone to for many years , $ never issue had great food - drive way out of my way to support them Tonight i order $113 worth of food - they do a cash discount comes out to $103 I have $101 and of course dont have change - ask to run my card for the remaining and she goes yea no discount - so back to $113 - I told her I only get cash for this and not going to bank for 2 dollars - she says ok $113 - Im not a person about reviews but being a loyal customer - Cant accept a $2 payment which would have been with a tip without losing my discount - sounds petty maybe but enough to support any other place besides here terrible service

This is hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. My family and I have been frequenting this restaurant for over 20 years. It’s our entire family’s favorite Chinese restaurant. Even though we have all moved out of Placerville, we still have occasional family lunches here. Some of us are over an hour away now and it’s well worth the journey. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Some of them even remember which soup each of us prefer with our meal and there are a lot of us. I could never say enough great things about Hong Kong Inn.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm not one to write bad reviews but the experience I had today was horrible! I had gone during lunch time with my siblings and ordered a lunch special with chicken chow mein and egg fried rice. I got my order and the rice was completely undercooked and the chow mein had no flavor to it. When I called the waitress over and explained to her she rolled her eyes at me and said that I was the one that ordered it and I told her that I just didn't like it and I was sorry but I just wasn't going to eat it and she told me that everyone else is eating it and they don't have any problems and I told her I was like look. Can you please just take it back like I'm not going to eat it. I don't want it. I don't like it and she rolled her eyes at me again and walked away. I will never be returning to this. That is absolutely horrible service and disrespectful for no reason
