Great place with an amazing view to the mountain! And food very tasty and delicious , pass by many times before and finally decide to get it, best decision ever!! !!
On my way to Olympic Valley, I stopped in placerville for lunch. I walked in this place and took a seat. That's when I noticed that this restaurant is filthy. Employees aren't wearing masks per California state law. The bathroom was filthy. That's the place where these unmasked employees go to wash their hands. if they refuse to comply with public health guidelines oh, why should we believe they're washing their hands after using the toilet? I got up and left. avoid this place like the plague, especially if you are a first responder or a tourist. As a first responder traveling through placerville, I risked my safety and the safety of my highly important co-workers by entering this establishment
From the owner to the staff... these people hussle non-stop. GREAT atmosphere, equally great food. Highly recommend.
Had a single traditional egg benedict and friend had a CA eggs benedict. The hollandaise was homemade and delicious. Great spot on highway 50 enroute to Lake Tahoe.
Don't go here if you value science and public safety. There is a huge sign as you pull in informing you that they don't allow masks for your health and safety. I won't spend my money at a place that spreads misinformation and won't take this pandemic seriously for the good of the community.
Summary of our experience:1. We showed up, asked for a seat outside. Our waitress told us there wasn’t any, other waitress said there was room outside (there was plenty).2. Waited over an hour for our food. Not once that entire time did our waitress or any other come by and update us or talk to us.3. 40 minutes into waiting with no contact from any of the staff, we contacted our waitress asking to have the food to go because we were tired. We waited another half of an hour and we reached out to contact her a second time, she said “your food is waiting at the register”. Cool.4. We go to pick up the food, pay for it. It’s more expensive than the menu suggests ($4 in sales tax for a $13 sandwich?).5. Our waitress told us that there was an issue making the food so they had to remake it...however, the to-go container wasn’t warm so we were prepared for what obviously followed: the meat was extremely well done (not medium), the bread was burned and incredibly greasy, the whole sandwich was less than lukewarm, and the fries tasted like leftovers. Maybe if we were stupid we would have believed the lie, but we have family in food service so we know what obviously happened: they made the food, forgot about us entirely, then when reminded just re-cooked the patty and re toasted the bread (that had been sitting for so long it soaked up all the grease) and kept the fries as they were. Recooked leftovers, yum.I don’t know if the staff is bad or the owner just severely understaffs their restaurant, but it was such a waste of time.
Great tasting food. Excellent service. Perfect location on your way to Tahoe. Dittos for staying mask free. For people who have issues with their stand, educate your self about what real pandemic is.
This place is a HUGE disappointment! The view was nice but that was the only thing! I wasn't allowed to wear my mask even though I have several underlying illnesses. I ended up walking to my table covering my nose and mouth with my sweater. The only reason I stayed was because my friend and I were starving. Too bad for us because we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food! And than when we got our food it wasn't even good! The best part of my meal was the orange juice. It wasn't that busy and our server only talked to us 4 times...when we were seated, our drink order, our food order, and when we got our check. It's was absolutely horrible! I will NEVER go back!!
This is a review from a doordash driver. Each time I deliver from this restaurant I get there at least 5 minutes early, however I’m always waiting 15-20 minutes for the food.(which usually ends up being 10 minutes passed the pick up by time) That makes customers unhappy with me because I’m the one delivering the food late but it’s the restaurants fault. This effects my livelihood. My customer rating goes down and my orders are marked as late. In turn I get less orders from doordash which is less money for me.. I’ll up this rating if they are more diligent and timely about getting delivery orders out.
Food is great and you don't have to wear a mask!!! The people are so nice that work here as well. I love love love love love this place!

Let me fist say that the big NO MASKS sign outside is what made me decide to stop here. Thank you so much for standing up to the tyrannical overeach. Now onto the food and service. Both were great! We were seated promptly and our waitress was very friendly, getting us started and providing coloring pages for our 2 kids. The menu has good selection with breakfast served all dayThe breakfast burrito my wife ordered was as big as her head, she could only finish about half of it. Very tasty and customized to just how she wanted. I had the apple pancakes, they were enormous, and very tasty!Even my kids ate most of their meals, and you know how picky kids can sometimes get.We grabbed a cinnamon roll to go, and it was probably the best i've ever had. 1 roll was enough for breakfast for all 4 of us the next day.Overall, very impressed with the food, the service, and the common sense offered here. All three are a rare commodity these days,
This place WAS great for years back when it was the Apple Cafe. Beautiful view, good food, friendly service. The service already started to decline when it went under new ownership a few years ago, and now they're turning people away for wearing masks during a PANDEMIC. After seeing their no masks signs we packed back in the car and went to Buttercup Pantry in downtown Placerville. And you know what? It was much better than Apple Bistro ever was. We'll be going to Buttercup Pantry from now on.
The food was top notch and plentiful. The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. Ate on the patio with has a great view of the surrounding area. After we paid our bill, the chief gave us a apple turnover free of charge. All I can say is the food was delicious. Before I forget, this is a dog friendly restaurant.
Damn delicious food with a great scenery. Service was okay but seemed like they were short staffed but our server was very nice. Them home made biscuits are some serious business with that apple jam. Exquisite
My husband and I came here for the first time yesterday, after years of receiving their pies as gifts from family and friends. We were quite surprised and confused by the signage both outside and in, discouraging the use of masks, social distancing and other protective measures, not to mention all the anti-government and anti-police messages strewn about basically stating that officials were trespassing on their property and somehow violating their rights. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and anticipated that I would either be verbally shamed or attacked by all of the dirty looks I received from customers and employees alike simply for choosing to wear my mask upon entering the premises. I’m in the early stages of a high-risk pregnancy and would rather err on the side of caution rather than forego any protection at all, regardless if it actually protects myself and my unborn baby or not. Sure, one could argue that I should just stay home if I feel so strongly. But I would argue is it not my freedom, choice and right to do what I feel is necessary for myself as long as it doesn’t harm or harass another? Despite the awkwardness, I was able to somewhat enjoy my breakfast and the outdoor view from the patio. The food was decent and the service we received from our attentive server was excellent. Overall not a completely horrible experience. I’m just not sure if I would drive over an hour to be gawked at like a zoo animal just to get a meal again, at least not for the duration of this undeniable pandemic going on around this country and world. While I’m a huge proponent of free speech, sometimes it’s just best to keep your personal opinions to yourself especially when it comes to those that could potentially reflect very poorly on your business. But based on the insane amount of signage posted here, they really don’t care whether you agree or not and would rather lose you as a customer by blatantly stating that this is not the business for you rather than adopt a more professional way of expressing such opinions. After all, is this not a food service establishment where the health and safety of customers should be number one? But I’m sure Covid-19 is just a conspiracy theory created to limit businesses and ruin our economy, right? Sure, a virologist wears a specialized suit that properly protects them. So does that mean we [customers] should invest in a Tyvek suit, mask/respirator, goggles, boots, and gown before visiting this place, since clearly my bandana does “nothing”? Apparently so. And if this is the case, then why aren't the employees wearing any PPE?
