We've been there on 4 occasions; as a large party(25), as a couple(2x), and small party(5). It didn't matter if it was when they were serving Mexican food or oysters, every time the service has been horrid. One instance, we asked if we could add a chair and were told that we could grab a chair ourselves from the back room, we were the only customers in the restaurant at that time. Another time(the last try) we sat for 10 min and not a single employee acknowledged us.

While visiting Placerville, we had to try Rocker Oysterfeller's. They did not disappoint! We only had oysters, so I cannot speak in regards to the rest of the menu. But if in Placerville, treat yourself to some amazing oysters!

My recommendation: don't stop here for dinner.
Service: When we arrived, we waited for the host for several minutes to no avail before a server finally came by and told us to sit anywhere we could find a seat. When we were seated, a woman introduced herself as our server but then we never saw from her again - another server came by a while later to ask if we had been helped, to which the answer was no.
Food: Our oyster appetizer was 90% cheese and oil - it was hard to find the oysters underneath. We ordered the roast chicken and the chicken and vegetable pasta; both were horrible. The roast chicken was cold as if it had been sitting out for a while. The pasta was oily and orange, without a vegetable to be found. We left most of the food on our plates when we left.
Cost: We paid almost $80 for nearly inedible food and some of the worst service I have received in a while. We would have had better service (and saved a lot of money!) if we'd bought dinner from the grocery store!
TL;DR if you have the option to go here, don't!

I liked the oysters, daughter thought the burger was too greasy and ended up tossing it.

How do you not have enough oysters for a Saturday night at 5pm? We will now be eating elsewhere since you don’t know how to run a business and keep things in stock

Absoloutley the W O R S T dining experience I have ever had in Placerville!! So overpriced, No atmosphere and Miniscule portions..and lots of flies!
Parking: The only saving grace was we could park right in front, and get leave as quickly as possible after we were done.

I had been here many times before but this last experience was my last. I’d always enjoyed this restaurant, their food, and location. I thought it was cool to have a unique restaurant in town. I went there with my family for my birthday dinner and wanted to try something new since the menu had changed and what I normally ordered was no longer available. We ordered 2 plates of oysters as usual and asked the waitress what was pretty popular on the current menu for the mains, and I was told the fried chicken was amazing. I trusted it and ordered the fried chicken. When I was served the dish, it looked decent, not great, but decent. I took one bite of the chicken and the entire center was cold so I tried to other thigh and same thing, cold… I then was just going to keep my thoughts to myself and figured I’d just pay and then say something afterwards so I’l didn’t appear like I was just finding a reason to have my meal discounted. The waitress came by our table a few minutes later and asked how everything was, I replied “it is what it is I guess” she awkwardly said “I’m sorry” and walked away, didn’t ask what was wrong, didn’t ask how it could improve just an awkward “I’m sorry” and walked away. So then I asked for the check early, I paid the 200$ bill plus a 30$ tip and then asked to speak to a manager. The waitress said the manager was not there so she asked if I still wanted to speak to the “lead” who was at the bar making cocktails. I said sure. The “lead came to my table and I quietly told her what the issue was, she was apologetic and said she would let the cook know.
The whole time I’m thinking “I paid 30$ for a meal that was either frozen and re heated or cooked earlier in the day and re heated, either way that’s unacceptable when spending that much on a plate of food at a mid grade restaurant. How are they called cooks if all they do is re heat or flash heat frozen meals, if I wanted a frozen meal for my birthday I’d have went to the grocery store and bought a couple hungry man meals from the freezer isle” all this is running through my head and I’m just getting more irritated as I sit there waiting for my son to finish his burger. So I asked for a box and we left. I will not return to rocker oysterfellers, and I encourage everyone to go elsewhere. There are way better options for food nearby who have way better customer service and atmosphere. You can find better quality oysters within 30 miles

The brisket tacos are inedible… no meat just fat. Also the kids chicken fingers are dark meat, which is strange. I don’t know any toddlers that eat dark meat. Extremely overpriced for the quality of food.

We only swung by for a bowl of chowder and a drink on Sunday morning. The atmosphere is really cool. The service was great and the soup was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!

The shrimp were fantastic. Many gluten free options including desert. They did forget to bring the coffee we ordered and took the water to refill it and never returned with it.
Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options and one of their chefs is gluten free.
