Fantastic wine tasting experience. Loved the service and the staff. They were very knowledgeable about the wine, and took their time explaining everything to us, as we're not really wine people. Kayla was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Will definitely come back. Really confused by some negative reviews, we had a really good experience.

Wine was amazing. Service was terrible. The staff on hand talked badly about other coworkers and customers. Gave us a rude attitude when we wanted to open a purchased bottle of wine around 6 (after our tasting). Mind you they close at 8. Felt like they were trying to get us out of the door.

Had a wonderful time at their new place in Placerville. We have always loved their wines. Has been our favorite wines since they first opened many years ago. Great discussion and friendly. Love it! We will be back!!!

Wine is good, service terrible. Staff does not have seem to have any idea what they are selling (Toogood is a single winery but apparently not all wines they are selling in the tasting room are from that same winery? A Rousanne was described only as ‘a dry wine’, which I think is quite a generic description and does not give this wine the credit it earns ). Staff was only interested in watching the Monday game om TV, chatting with each other and counting down the minutes they had to work that evening. At 7.15 they were shutting down half of the lighting in the bar (they close at 8pm) and when I left at 7.30 the ‘closed’ sign was already in the door. They really do not same to care about their customers and their product, I will not visit again.

Beautiful shop! I will admit, I know nothing about wine, how it's made, the differences between them, etc. etc. etc. I came in yesterday to purchase a couple of bottles of some red wines for a buddy. The gentleman was very nice, and explained what my friend may like, gave some recommendations, and was very informative. I told him that I personally like moscato wines (sweeter the better!). He had me try their Muscat Port, and their Riesling dessert wine; both of which were phenomenal. I walked in wanting 2 bottles, and walked out with 4 LOL. Lovely place! I will definitely be back.

So many different ports to choose from, I never knew some of the wines I normally drink can be made into ports! Other wine club member and our wine host were so helpful in pairing wines that we would like. I really liked the Malbec port and Porto Zino port. I definitely need to check out the cellar location! The painted wall inside shows the actual entrance of the cellar location!

This place is awesome! We are Toogood Winery members, and I've been wanting to check this spot out since it opened. We often stay at the Carry House Hotel, so it's a bonus that this is one the first floor of the Carry House Hotel Building. Be careful when going to the restroom, you might wind up with a ghost in the Carry House. ;-) This is a beautiful spot, with bar seating, and lots of table seating. The doors open helps to keep it fresh feeling inside. Of course they have all the same great wines as the winery. They do have special deals that you can only get here, so that's a fun little perk. We really enjoyed winding down with one of our favorite wineries in this fun tasting room. Cheers!

Had a great experience here this weekend. Came in with my sister in laws and mother in law for the wine and cheese pairing which was fantastic. They took reservations which was convenient for us, but there was plenty of room as the tasting room was not crowded when we were there. I liked that they had a menu of what to expect for the pairing, it was pre-determined so I didn't have to toil over which wines I wanted to try. The presentation was very nice and I enjoyed all of the selections of both wine and cheese. We were told that the pairing isn't a regular thing, but they usually do it every couple of month. We had a great time and will be back.

Absolutely wonderful place!! Lovely wines, friendly staff, and great ambience. And the Drunken Goat cheese was AHH-MAZING.

my wife and i had a flight each after strolling through downtown Placerville. the wine was pretty good, and the lady working there was very friendly, we had a lovely conversation and was a nice end to our visit of the town

Amazing ports! If you like tawny ports, you’ll be in heaven. ???

I'm a fan of port and their selection is perfect for me. I'm not a connoisseur of wine, so I can't go into detail, but the range I tried was from a light citrus forward to a rich, robust jammy port. The winter Muscat tastes like sunlight trapped in a bottle and turned into candy. My girlfriend joined their port wine group, which sends out 6 bottles for $138. We loved the wine so it's a good deal.
