The beet salad was very good. Also enjoyed the veal saltibocca and the lasagna. Unique old school Italian restaurant feel only a block from the beach.

I used to come here often with my family before COVID, and then I moved back to Michigan. Now that I’m back in LA, the first place I went to was here, but it’s not the same. The food tastes cheap now, and the service isn’t good. This place used to be filled with families, and the staff were always laughing, having fun, and treating customers like family. That joy isn’t there anymore.
My pizza tasted like rubber, the bathrooms weren’t clean at all, and everything was really expensive. My wife and I are so disappointed. New management has to do better.

It started out very nice and they were very friendly. It quickly deteriorated to a lack of attention to our party of 6. When the orders came, the three of us who ordered chicken picatta were very disappointed. The chicken was tough, dry, and overcooked. Probably won't be going back

I’m new to the Playa Vista area and this Sunday afternoon, I drove to this neck of the wonderful woods, called, “Playa Del Rey.” It was 5:30pm and I looked for a cup of Java to sustain me, through my beach explorations. My caffeine radar did not find a specific coffee-house, but I was pointed in the direction of a restaurant called, “Cantalini’s,” (near the intersection and across from the beach). I was originally going to get a coffee to go, but invited to have a seat and also enjoy a dessert. I sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed drinking the cappuccino; because it was made perfectly, with the Italian Illy brand. (I prefer this brand of coffee over all the others, including Starbucks, et al.) To my delight, it was served with a delish biscotti. Also, I normally don’t prefer to sit outside, where cars drive-by; however, the customer service, from Lisa, (Hostess), and Heidi (Server), was warm and welcoming. The hostess recommended the Tiramisu and when the server found out I’m a foodie and owned a high profile, fine dining establishment; she proudly said the Italian food was authentic and marinara, (‘gravy,), magnifico. When it comes to Italian food, I’m rather picky, because if it’s not better than what I cook, then I’d rather stay home. However, I could confirm her recommendation, because I was seated outside the restaurant window. The smells from the kitchen were mouth watering. I’m planning to dine here very soon and looking forward to also trying their bread. I’m only sorry I won’t be dining here tonight, because the musicians walked in and kindly invited me to dine and watch the show. I will look forward to seeing the live entertainment on a Sunday evening next month and further review the menu offerings. So far, I highly recommend!

Amazing Italian food! The best in the neighborhood, and the best I've had in LA. The veal, the pasta, the seafood, I've eaten here several times and never been disappointed. Reasonable prices for good portions

Took my sister here for her birthday. We got a nice cozy booth. Pizza was excellent! Tomatoes and basil were so fresh and so sweet! We also shared chicken piccata with hand made delicious fettuccine Alfredo. Finished with a giant piece of chocolate cake. Waitress was fantastico!

Catalinis is a hidden gem, the best Italian food anywhere on the west side.

Seafood special is double the price for any other menu item... came in to share a plate with the Mrs. and was charged $48 for a single pasta entree with 4 pieces of shrimp. Very disappointed while the rest of the menu was $15-25 a serving. Don't recommend.

Food was good, service was excllent. Ambiance was terrible. Seated right next to the food service, despite a reservation and request for a booth and my chair was kicked, brushed up and bumped at least 20 times during the meal. we tried to move the table a few inches away, and was told to please move the table back . Just too tight a space, ruined the meal.
