Tanner's is the best - great food, great service and, most importantly, great coffee! Love coming here on walks, or for a quick morning stop before work. Their summer drink menu is on point!

Chill cafe, nothing particularly special. The food and drinks were okay. The matcha latte was very milky and didn’t have a lot of flavor– especially if you’re particular about your matcha. The Peanut Butter Mocha latte was also very milky and had very little peanut butter flavoring that I even forgot I ordered with it! The food was also mediocre. The lox lacked flavor and the bagel sandwich just tasted like bread and veggies separate but together. Limited seating all around, and street parking isn’t so difficult to find.

I’ve lived in Playa del Rey for the last few years, and for some reason I’ve never gone in to Tanner’s before. Now I know why. It’s Sunday at 4:20pm and my husband and I decided to go to Tanner‘s just to get a coffee, to go…I checked online in advance and we noticed on Google it says they close at 5pm. Whew, still have 30 minutes. We parked and went to walk inside… Before we could even walk in the door, an employee came outside and said they were closed and not helping any customers. I glanced at the sign on the door and it says on Sunday they close at 5pm… Just like it says on Google. I looked at my phone, 4:34pm. I told him “I thought you close at 5pm, and he just looked at me, while blocking the front door. Regardless, we were not invited in to order, had a very unwelcoming experience and we will continue taking our business across the street to Cafe Milan… A local business that doesn’t turn away locals… Disappointed really, as we get coffee and smoothies locally multiple times/week and our extended family also lives in PDR…

$1 for oat milk is a no go for bad tasting oat milk

Really frustrating when a business can’t do the basic task of being open when their Google maps hours say they’re open.

I stopped by for a quick bite and coffee, but was disappointed to see flies inside the food case, so I passed on ordering a bagel sandwich. I ended up getting a pesto sandwhich and an iced vanilla latte, which was pretty average. While the location is convenient and staff is friendly with a laid back vibe, I'd say the food and drink is average overall.

I'm not a true coffee drinker (love tea). However, I've drank more coffee this month than I had in the last 10 years. But I came here a few years ago when they had a chalkboard full of coffees from around the world (Super Kool ) I came back & have referred many people because of that experience. So when I went back the other day. I was disappointed to learn that they have changed things up. There was only four or five international blends. None in ice coffee just Tanner's blend which was cool. But I would have preferred Ethiopian coffee beans in an ice coffee.
